Overall Satisfaction with BigCommerce
We Use BigCommerce for our online beverage company. I am responsible for customer care and inquiries. We set up accounts online and can segment customers and resellers so it is very convenient for us. I can reply online to customer inquiries and send them messages directly from their orders too which saves me a lot of time to keep it all in one place.
Pros
- Ability to segment customers into different price categories.
- Great online support especially if you are not a tech person.
- Easy to make changes and add promotions with category discounts like buy x and get x free, etc. This is all included with no need for extra purchases.
Cons
- We love all the features but find the cost a bit high for a small business like ours.
- We do not have to allocate a big budget to our website maintenance as luckily most of our questions or issues can be handled quickly by using the online help.
- Our pop up and integration with MailChimp has helped us to increase our database.
- We can send messages and answer customer questions directly from the order level which keeps all the info in one place for all to see.

Since using our integrated MailChimp pop up and email marketing sequence campaign, we have seen a big increase in not only initial orders but also repeat orders. It is great to 'set and leave' and not to have to do anything as it is all automated and we know it is working well with no need to keep checking like many 3rd party apps.
- Shopify and Squarespace
I find the features of Big Commerce more flexible than the standard ones on Shopify and you seem to need to continuously purchase add ons to do the same thing. In regard to SEO, I find Big Commerce to be better than Square Space sites.
