Overall Satisfaction with Braze

We use Braze for orchestrating personalized, data-driven customer engagement across our streaming platform. Our goal is to retain subscribers and reduce churn through timely, relevant communication that reflects individual streaming behaviour. We design full subscriber journeys using Braze Canvas, trigger personalized messages based on user behavior, and optimize campaigns through A/B testing. By integrating Braze with Snowflake, we enhance user profiles, enable predictive churn modeling, and support dynamic segmentation for more targeted, impactful engagement across channels.

Pros

  • In-App Campaigns, where we use real-time personalization to deliver in-app messages tailored to streaming preferences and lifecycle stage triggering, like when they are about to churn.
  • Or contextual targeting to trigger messages based on specific app events, like adding to the watchlist.
  • Multi-Channel Journeys, like email and push, into whole journeys using Braze’s Canvas tool. You can set conditional logic with audience and decision splits based on custom attributes. You can also add mid-journey steps and triggers that retarget users based on new developments in the journey.
  • Email Blasts for our season promos. We send to millions, so we use dynamic content blocks to have dynamic sections that change based on user custom attributes like language, taste, and preferences. In terms of the high-volume delivery, we can send at scale using the rate limiting and entry criteria without compromising deliverability.

Cons

  • Braze’s Link Management feature currently lacks robust support for multilingual and variant-heavy environments. As a multinational brand, this is slightly inconvenient.
  • Braze’s intelligent suite is a strong value proposition on the surface but often feels like a black box. There’s minimal room to customize the logic to fit unique business contexts. More granular control over model inputs, thresholds, and weighting would be cool.
  • Braze excels at collecting and activating user data, but naturally doesn't show much for optimisation. A more transparent data usage dashboard with alerts for underutilized or outdated attributes would be a game-changer.
  • We saved a couple of million by switching from Salesforce to Braze.
  • We increased our engagement for a limited-time promo by 33% by simply running a 4-variant subject line test.
  • We managed to reduce our unsubscribe volume by 18% by excluding dormant users.
10 years in the game, and the majority of ESP and email platforms look ugly and are being held back by legacy UX. It feels like Braze is one of the few making an effort to keep their user interface tolerable, which matters for us CRMers since we're clicking, dragging, and dropping 100s of times a day, so a fast, intuitive dashboard and interface matter a lot.
We have been able to connect our email and mobile channels together in a way that allows us to increase the metrics that matter to us by sending the right content at the right time on the channels that drive the most ROI in the right context. Using the many features we can build a MVP solution then find new ways to scale it via Content Blocks and Catalogs. With the right people you can iterate and test into new solutions that drive value.
Braze is just the best one when it comes to aesthetics and usability, which matter when you're working every day, making complex or even simple changes to highly contextual campaigns for multiple stakeholders. Even without following tutorials, you just get it instantly and start crafting journeys very quickly. And they continue to keep adding new features at a rapid pace, so credit where it's due.

Do you think Braze delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Braze's feature set?

Yes

Did Braze live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Braze go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Braze again?

Yes

Braze excels when testing multiple mobile journeys, especially push and in-app messaging. It's best to take advantage of the personalization tools and operate in an agile manner to run frequent A/B tests across user segments. However, if you can't get your data into Braze, you're essentially holding yourself back. Real-time personalisation and optimisation work better when the data is available at the point of send.
