Overall Satisfaction with Central
I use LogMeIn Central for unattended remote access for a single account (off our domain), on two iMacs. It works well for a quick and easy setup/access of computers off-site, off our domain, off our WAN, etc. It recently had a UI change, but only for the login process.
Pros
- unattended remote access
- simple login
- simple file transfer
- reasonably priced
Cons
- sometimes after an update, the unattended access stops working on Macs, and user intervention is required, which is sometimes very difficult to walk a user through allowing 3 or 4 different processes from Mac settings
- other than that, no negatives, as far as my usage
- For the most part, the big positive of LogMeIn Central is price. A number of years back, most of the well known and widely used freeware solutions for unattended remote access hiked their prices substantially. LogMeIn remained very competitive. Also, any time I have contacted their support, they have been quick to respond and always very helpful.
Very similar to GoToMyPC (LogMeIn was rebranded as GoTo, hence the UI change I mentioned), Splashtop, and TeamViewer, as far as cost, usability, features.
