ClickUp is the Gold Standard for Task Management
Overall Satisfaction with ClickUp
We use ClickUp for task management and project management. The main functionality for me is a board, containing tasks assigned to a given developer, that developers work through each day. We have custom statuses to define where the task is at in the process and use them to indicate workload and progress. At the beginning of a task, scoping and stages of acceptance. At the end of a task, it moves through statuses representing QA and deployment position.
Pros
- Subtasks
- Integrations
- Approachability and discoverability
- Performance
Cons
- Keeping information current across the platform
- User permissions/visibility
- Task management was much easier than with Jira - took half the time
Greatly. People are able to make their own boards and discover features and workflows to make our processes better, rather than working within the rigid confines of the system.
For me, we haven't replaced anything with ClickUp, but it's replaced other task management systems and we've adopted use of new features as a result of their usability on the ClickUp platform. Otherwise, we'd have a leaner workflow due to the clunkiness of the systems we'd have not been using.
ClickUp replaced BugHerd and Jira for us because it was much more feature-rich than BugHerd, and much more performant/flexible than Jira. I've been told Jira fulfilled certain reporting/data needs, but it was a punish to actually use each day. ClickUp made my workflow much better by doing the same thing Jira does, with none of the clunkiness. One thing I missed from BugHerd was the ability to click and report tasks with a pin dropped screenshot, which I still highly rate if you're a smaller team that can get away with a leaner product - but ClickUp is amazing and will serve the purpose Jira, Trello or Asana would.
