Overall Satisfaction with ClickUp
ClickUp is used to manage the feature requests shared by different Customers, the Product Backlog, and the Sprints in our firm. It allows us to filter, track, and plan the delivery of features in a structured and transparent manner. We also use it to manage our test cases, our test automation backlog, and our DevOps backlog.
Pros
- Tags allow me to filter lists appropriately
- Filters are thoughtfully designed for rapid execution
- Comments and assignments are linked with emails allowing me to communicate effectively with my team
Cons
- Exports. Too expensive.
- Dashboards. Not useful enough.
- Linked Custom Properties. They do not exist.
- We have to use some software. We decided to use ClickUp.
- ClickUp certainly saves time, but difficult to put a number to it.
- ClickUp improves collaboration, but difficult to quantify that.
It is extremely easy to communicate via the comments functionality on every ticket. Comments are recorded in history. Every comment notifies the people involved in that comment. It allows me to manage my communications effectively, without the fear of missing out on an important message or doubt or clarification by someone. We generally do not use it for brainstorming. That is done over calls and simple Doc or Sheet software (sometimes even notes).
Yeah. It is the only tool we use other than Slack and the GSuite in our firm. GSuite is required to create emails, spreadsheets and allot a cloud-based drive to our team members. I doubt ClickUp can replace that anytime soon. Slack is used for rapid communication, requiring immediate response. Even though ClickUp can be used for this, I'd prefer to use two different tools. One for rapid, unstructured comms. Another for deliberate, structured comms.
ClickUp is better than the ones above. It is full of functionalities and is super fast at the same time. It allows clear management of work. It also allows clear communication between teams ensuring things do not get missed. No one should consider the above tools over ClickUp. I hope they keep improving their performance.
