A great all rounder for complex projects or setups
Overall Satisfaction with ClickUp
We use ClickUp organisation wide for managing all of our projects and our marketing. Our clients have their own folders and hubs in ClickUp where they can access and see their tasks and progress. Our team use this as their based also for all their workload. Every task they work on has a ticket created in ClickUp and they work with project managers to keep their tasks up to date and time track.
Pros
- Flexibility: Able to shape boards the way you need
- Time tracking in platform
- Comments in app (for keeping status' and updates all in platform)
Cons
- UI: A lot of our clients find it overly confusing to use
- Resource planning: It's very difficult to resource plan within the app without mapping 100s of dependancies for when something goes over estimate or the timeline moves
- Separate client facing and internal comments. We have to maintain two boards for each client due to this
- Increase collaboration within the team
- Coordinated multi department teams to work together with clear tasks
- Clear project planning and goal setting
It's a really great tool for collaborating, if you're using it correctly. If some members of the team aren't updating it as they should then it is very easy to become inconsistent and not a helpful tool. But, overall, it has really helped consolidate all of our communications which is great for collaboration.
The notifications are not the most intuative or consistent however, so sometimes our team default to other tools like Slack for quick comms

It's allowed us to have one 'source of truth' for projects and retainers. Rather than have some scopes in Trello, Slack or Email, all details are consolidated in ClickUp and agreed there.
I really like how it integrates with Slack in particular. We use this for day to day comms, and having clickup messages and status' send through to specific channels is very helpful.

I really like the flexibility of ClickUp and that it has an easy use of experience (once you know how to use it). I found other tools quite limiting in not being able to add specific logic or rules. It's really important to be able to show data in specific ways for our clients, so this is really very valuable and something tools like Asana and Trello don't do well.
