The Most Capable Productivity Software
Overall Satisfaction with ClickUp
ClickUp is the single source of truth in our content marketing company. It drives our project flows, holds relevant documentation, and automates communication and task distribution. The ability to track time, hand-off sub-tasks, and organize details without needing to perform 5 "housekeeping" tasks in the middle of project productivity is a massive win for our business.
Pros
- Time tracking
- Live commenting
- Document storage
Cons
- Clickup is a tank! It's feature-set is extremely robust and can overload a new user.
- Account wall/Guest access. I'd love to be able to send people more info through ClickUp without them needing an account.
- Settings navigation: It is sometimes unclear what things need to be handled in the main settings or in specific task cards.
- Shortened our average project duration by 50%
- Reduced our necessary operations software portfolio by 90%
- Decreased emails by 50%
Our average project consists of an ideation stage, an on-site production stage, a post-production stage, and a posting stage. Each of these stages has a different workflow and often different team members. By writing out a customized, full-length workflow in ClickUp, we are able to maximize visibility and functionality for those that need it, while hiding things from those who don't need the info either before or after their subtask is complete.
This is our favorite part of ClickUp. It's so flexible that it can be shaped towards completely different departments' needs, while still fitting into an efficient big-picture productivity system. This means that we don't need a birds-eye-view administrator to input data and keep things straight. The people who are interfacing with the beginning-, middle-, and end-product directly are also the ones passing information along, so there is less need for internal translation and fewer hand-offs and delays.
- Todoist and Google Tasks
ClickUp is the most robust of the 3 productivity tracking softwares I have used. Todoist can perform only a fraction of the functions of ClickUp, notably lacking time-tracking, automations, workflows, and Gantt viewing and details. Google Tasks was less intimidating on the front end and still has a place in my personal life for simple task reminders, but is insufficient for multi-step or long-term project planning and history.
