Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox

Dropbox is one of the three main programs that makes up our "Work OS." It serves at the backbone of our file management and cloud storage. It has truly revolutionized how we can stay connected as a largely remote workforce and streamlined the sharing of files in both an organized and timely manner. The "selective sync" feature was a game changer for our work flows and the clean/simple UX resonates with our own company's core value of "Keep It Simple."

Pros

  • Remote workflows
  • File organization
  • Clean UI
  • Powerful tools & features

Cons

  • More customizations for client-facing UI
  • More flexible pricing on space
  • More features on their video review platform (Replay)
  • We have been able to almost triple the amount of projects we can manage
  • We have been able to deploy a cloud storage solution at a fraction of the cost of other vendors
  • We have been able to offer clients a seamless file sharing experience
Dropbox continues to be a leader in the field of "remote work OS." I rate it a 9 because of its powerful features, reliability, and competitive price point. The additional point of improvement largely comes down to some small updates in features in some of its more ancillary services that our team would like to see. However, the "core" of its service remains strong.
While Google Drive is a viable option, especially if your team is already using the Google suite of products, it feels more like a "cloud dump," rather than a system that you can truly operate within. Dropbox remains not only an effective storage solution, but also offers the UI to make it an effective place to conduct work as well.

Would you buy Dropbox again?

Yes

Dropbox is ideal for a remote workforce's file management. We are a creative agency that has team members spread across the country, and so being able to share files while maintaining a consistent file structure has been pivotal. Dropbox also has powerful features that have creatives in mind, such as the now inbuilt video transcriptions and, of course, the Replay add-on that supports video review.
