Gong can do a LOT for you
Overall Satisfaction with Gong
There is so much Gong does. First the ability to score calls among peers or have feedback given is an incredibly helpful way to level up and this is done so easily in Gong. It is so simple for a manager to write direct feedback about a certain point of a call or about the call as a whole. The UI is simple enough to follow and the searching for calls is fluid. It integrates easily to our tools and has been a very complete call library. I personally enjoy the ability to make call playlists of different types of calls. These playlists can be used on the mobile app and call studying can be done while on the go. Within our business, Gong has helped to organize all of our demonstrations and customer conversations going back several years. This is just so helpful when needing to reference information from the past. Another helpful feature has been the AI and call analytics. As Gong analyzes our calls we are given top talking points and insight into what customers thought was most valuable. We also get an outline and summary of the call. This has been a tremendous time saver when writing follow-ups as this is so easy to reference. So much time is saved and learning is done easily with Gong.
Pros
- Provides a complete transcription and outline of our demonstrations and calls
- Ability to share calls for scoring and comments
- Call playlists to help with learnings and trainings
Cons
- Some calls are slow to upload and analyze
- The platform can have lag on startup
- High price
- Personally it has cut my email response times in half after meetings as the outlines and summaries are that good.
- Sales team has continued to hit higher revenue goals in part due to the coaching, comments and call sharing.
- Training for new employees is smoother with saved playlists of important demonstrations and calls to learn from.
Gong has definitely provided our team accurate insights in spades. The transcriptions and call analysis saves us a tremendous amount of time when working on written followups after meetings or calls. The outlines and summaries appear to be accurate as well as the highlights of top talking points. The highlights about who is speaking is very accurate. I would say the call sentiment is the only thing that may not always be perfectly reliable.
As a training tool for call feedback, our team continues to level up and adapt to what customers are saying utilizing Gong recordings. We can easily hear which competitors seem to be popular or which objections are becoming spoken more often and we can learn to adapt together. The keyword searches for a specific word amongst recordings is incredibly helpful in this whole process.
I've used Chorus at a past company. It seems to do the transcriptions similarly accurately to Gong. Good enough call recording. The call feedback can be done too although maybe not as easily. I do not believe Chorus can create call playlists. I do feel there are a lot less analytics pieces to Chorus too. There are many feature addons in Gong to help sales motions.
