LogicMonitor Review
Overall Satisfaction with LogicMonitor
We use Logic Monitor to monitor our clients' devices and network connectivity. When we receive an alert from LM, we take action to resolve the incident.
Pros
- Realtime monitoring
- Captures historical data
- Can be heavily customized
- The customer success team is engaging
Cons
- Better reporting options. We need to be able to report on connection up time % and are struggling to produce that.
- We are more responsive to alerts therefore the customer experience is better and are providing less negative reviews.
- Our previous tool had bugs that would negatively impact the gear it was monitoring. We are seeing less alerts now because the gear is not locking up like it used to (one or 2 older routers)
- We can monitor more types of devices which is an opportunity to generate more revenue
Auvik did not provide historical data and could not monitor as many device types as LM. We found the Auvik collector to be more "buggy" and have had less issues with LM. We do feel that Auvik had a better network topology map and would clearly show device relationship. That is really the only advantage that Auvik has over LM.
We monitor mostly on prem and private cloud infrastructure as well as some devices located in our 3 data centres. We use the tool to monitor our own corporate infrastructure as well as our client' as we are an MSP. We have gear located in Canada and the USA.
Our roll-out was relatively smooth and was able to configure the tool without a lot of assistance from LM. Because you can customize so many things, it's taken some time to fine tune however that was expected. I was not involved in adoption of the previous tool so I cannot provide feedback on the comparison.
We have not retired any tools other than Auvik which was our network monitoring tool at the time. We haven't been able to leverage any additional automation at this time.
