Overall Satisfaction with Mailchimp
We are using Mailchimp to communicate with our existing users about any product updates, news, maintenance etc. It's used primarily by Marketing, even for technical updates. Even on its free plan, it solves our need to communicate with our users at scale and in an automated way, without us having to use our transactional email services.
- Ease of use
- Templates and easily accessible lite advanced features
- Affordable
- Many people know how to use it, so it's easy to train someone to use it
- I'd like to see some more advanced features, automations and dripping functionality
- More email templates are always welcome
- A little improvement on the design of the UI
- It helped us save hours every month communicating to our clients maintenance, updates etc.
- It also saved us time and headache from user complaints who might not know of an update.
- It has helped us reduce customer support tickets.
Mailchimp is easier to set up and use, it has a much better and more fluid user experience. It's also more affordable and has better pricing tiers.
Other competitors might have some more advanced features, but the pricing escalates so sharp that it is not justified. From competitors with similar features and functionality, I believe Mailchimp is the best overall software.

We haven't treated it yet as an all-in-one marketing platform. For example we use Google Suit for our CRM, another tool for our transactional emails and depending on what we want done, for some specific activities we might use other tools or Mailchimp in combination with other tools.
But that's fine, what it does, it does it very well, especially for starters.

We have had success in establishing our newsletter, mass communicating with our users and clients, and more. We significantly reduced friction when doing maintenance or launching new features. Also, our clients get instantly notified when we have new functionality.
I didn't learn any specific lessons along the way, other than the more html you use the less likely to end up in the primary tab
