Overall Satisfaction with Mailchimp

Mailchimp is used by the marketing department of our organization. We use it to collect email addresses on our website, send out newsletters and product offers, and manage our marketing contacts and lists. Mailchimp allows all marketing, email harvesting, and email communication to happen within one platform. We also use Mailchimp to track email open and click rates.
  • Mailchimp provides strong, reliable data on email performance.
  • Mailchimp allows emails to be A/B tested in many ways, such as subject line.
  • Mailchimp's email creator/editor is more user-friendly than its competitors.
  • Mailchimp lacks automation and drip campaigns.
  • Setting up segments, lists, and groups can be confusing for new users.
  • Mailchimp support is slow if you are not a premium customer.
  • Positive: Easy for new users to get up and running, allowing for increased productivity.
  • Positive: Email collecting was able to be implemented right away for free.
  • Negative: Unused and unsubscribed contacts count against your billing count.
Mailchimp stacks up well against its competitors, including Constant Contact. Comparatively, Mailchimp's user interface is easier to learn, especially for new users. Mailchimp offers better reporting features, both for email reporting and contact management. Both products lack in customer service, and you should expect very slow response times if you are not a premium customer.
Usability is Mailchimp's strong suit. You can tell that each of its main features is designed with the user interface in mind. For both new and experienced users, Mailchimp's usability is top-notch.
Being able to integrate several online marketing functions within Mailchimp is a key factor in purchasing and continuing to use the product. It has saved my organization money in other subscriptions while allowing our staff to focus on learning just one tool. Each of Mailchimp's marketing functions works seamlessly with each other, which saves our team time at every step of the marketing process.
Successes include collecting emails from our website, sending product emails with strong open rates, and having insights into who our contacts are. The most important lesson I've learned is that having an all-in-one platform is worth it.

Do you think Mailchimp delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Mailchimp's feature set?

Yes

Did Mailchimp live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Mailchimp go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Mailchimp again?

Yes

Mailchimp is well suited for small-to-medium-sized organizations that need an email marketing platform. Mailchimp makes it easy for new users to set up email collection to a list and then follow-up with that list via nicely designed email templates. Mailchimp is less appropriate for larger businesses that need a more intricate setup and automation.
