Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We use it at all levels of the company, mainly to collaborate on project strategy and design, but also to present to clients and do stakeholder/client engagement.
  • Stakeholder and client engagement -- Many people at one time can contribute ideas or votes via post-its and dots.
  • Contains all project materials, including scribbles and sketches, in one place. Helps track the progress of a project and allows us to access older graphics and ideas.
  • Allows collaborative mark-up of technical and sketch drawings by managers and others.
  • Can be difficult to pan around without moving the object you're panning over.
  • Would be nice to embed vector graphics. Sometimes you lose significant resolution when dropping graphics into Miro.
  • Don't appreciate the purple overlay that covers an object recently uploaded by another user. Becomes distracting and isn't particularly useful.
  • It has definitely helped the extent to which we can get clients and stakeholders involved in engagement processes in large virtual meetings. Everyone is able to contribute in real-time.
  • In a remote environment, it has improved our ability to collaborate in an informal way on projects and presentations.
  • Provides a useful way to layout artboards before developing them in slower but more precise software.
It's easy to use, even for those not particularly adept in technology, which makes it easy to introduce to both team members and clients/stakeholders. Shared boards that save automatically make it easy to jump in and out of boards without thinking about it, contributing to ease of use significantly.
It's easy to learn for first-time users, even for those who aren't particularly comfortable with digital platforms.
It has impacted our remote collaborative capability very positively. Team members are free to jump in and out of boards, and easily contribute their own content. Real-time markups and sketching help us quickly develop design ideas and project strategy collaboratively -- sometimes a description over zoom is just not enough to communicate complex concepts.

  • Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365)
Similar functionality, but Miro seems faster than Microsoft Whiteboard, easier to use, and more easily shared with those not already integrated with the Microsoft Office environment.
Great for ad hoc collaboration between team members on design, project strategy, reviews, and presentation development. Also great for client and stakeholder engagement, especially when dealing with large numbers of people at once. Not ideal for composing complex artboards for use in well-designed presentations, but you can put together a decent presentation collaboratively.
