Overall Satisfaction with Miro

I use Miro to:1. Organize my thoughts and ideas.2. Collaborate with others - usually showing my board in share screen mode3. Store knowledge and resources4. Conduct retrospectives

Pros

  • Extensive template library
  • Frames are great for organizing a board, and the navigation bar allows fast and easy navigation between the frames.
  • Seeing everyone's cursors and being able to follow someone to their position is useful.
  • Overall performance is surprisingly good.

Cons

  • It would be great if I could record myself - audio and screen capture while drawing on a board, for others to view asynchronously.
  • I wish there was an easier way to find the best templates and ideas that are relevant to what I'm trying to do at a particular time. Normally I have to search the Miro templates and then the Miroverse, and it's not effective. I'm sure there are plenty of things I've missed, that would have been a better fit for me.
  • The tables are a bit clunky. I wish they were more usable.
  • As a product manager, Miro has helped me be more productive, compared to using Google docs or presentations.
Sometimes the "What's New" or other models can be annoying. Though I definitely understand why Miro uses them, and sometimes I get value from reading them. It's just that they never pop in the right time: they pop when I've already set my mind on doing something with Miro. It would be much better if they would pop sometime during the session.
I've only integrated Miro with Slack and Google Docs - and those have been very straightforward and useful.
It's helped slightly. Unfortunately, not everyone in the organization has licensed, so most of my current use is for myself and presenting to my board.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Miro is more versatile, has an infinite canvas, has way more features and templates, and allows better collaboration.
Best for remote collaboration, I first started using Miro as a Whiteboard with my remote team. It's great for brainstorming, retros, workshops, and collecting, and organizing resources and thoughts. For teams that are almost always in the same location (non-remote), it's probably less useful. But can still be used as an additional tool.
