Overall Satisfaction with Miro
We use it to journey map digital and non-digital the experiences of our client's customers predominantly. We use Miro to establish the journey, highlight opportunities, insight, and pain points. We might do this alone, as a cross-disciplinary team, or in collaboration with a client over a video call.
We also use Miro to brainstorm ideas on post-it notes and then vote on them in workshop that we conduct internally and with clients.
Lots of our clients prefer to workshop remotely, and a significant portion of the business is remote, so having a tool such as Miro enables us to collaborate. Otherwise, I do not think we would collaborate as much or as effectively.

Pros
- Speeding up the process compared to using other not built for purpose tools for collaboration like PowerPoint (i.e. linking objects with arrows, or typing straight into a shape)
- Enabling all workshop members to work in real time within the same document in a way that you can see what other people are doing, as if you were with them in person.
- It's quite good at hiding or locking things to prevent clients/colleagues/research participants from breaking something or seeing something you don't want them to see yet
Cons
- I am not sure exactly, but I often find I have trouble with the scaling of elements which contain text. They either don't scale how I want them to, or scale when I don't want it to scale
- When you resize a frame, it doesn't resize the content within it, which is frustrating
- Improved collaboration due to it being digital and accessible remotely
- Reduced costs for travel and physical things like stickers, post-its, paper, pens...
- It often provides an opportunity to brainstorm and collaborate far quicker, as significantly less time is needed to prepare
Greatly. It means less travel is required. It has empowered us to recruit people from across the country to join the team remotely because such tools exist, meaning the quality of our team can be higher and not limited to a location. It has also facilitated collaboration with other teams within the organisation, which otherwise would have not happened or been more challening.
