Overall Satisfaction with Miro

I've used Miro for a number of reasons:
  • Virtual brainstorming
  • Organizing
  • Journey mapping
I appreciate the ways Miro offers to visually represent your thinking & your work; something we don't currently don't have a lot of great tools around.

Pros

  • It's very user friendly. I did not have to play around in Miro much before I got a hang of all the tools. I also feel like everything is thoughtfully placed, and not hard to find.
  • I appreciate the various templates & formats Miro provides. I'm new to design thinking, and I love all of the tools in Miro that support that work. Again, most are relatively easy to use.
  • I like the ability to share. When people aren't available to attend a brainstorming session, I like that I can download a PDF of what we worked & share it around.
  • I like that Miro supports multiple users at once. I've used this almost exclusively in a virtual setting, and I've found people really appreciate the ability to collaborate in real time while not being in the same room. Adds a nice touch of intimacy that might otherwise be missing.

Cons

  • While I appreciate the available templates, they can sometimes be hard to find.
  • In my experiences, Miro is best used with a mouse. It would be nice if the environment were a bit to easier to navigate, and the tools easier to manipulate when you're just relying on touch screen.
  • I cannot quote any hard numbers; I will say that using Miro in the ways that I have without a doubt decreased the amount of time from ideation to sketching out a prototype.
It helped substantially. The ability to collaborate in real time, for me, is the real kicker. It seems to be a far different experience to have everyone's hands on the board at the same time, as opposed to individual's offering their thoughts & insights while 1 identified facilitator captures those thoughts on a whiteboard.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Each of the applications listed above seems to serve a specific purpose-creating infographics, charting out a process, brainstorming. I appreciate that Miro can essentially allow you to complete all of those things in place.
I recently conducted a journey map activity with a group of colleagues that worked really well. The ability to share the board so that others could review before our session was really helpful to provide context; also I found it extremely helpful for my colleagues to see their peer's work being updated in real time. This spared conversation and ideation that I don't think would have been possible had we just 'talked it through.'
