Overall Satisfaction with Namely
Our company initially implemented Namely for all employees as an HRIS tool. After slow adoption and some administrative challenges, it has since had reduced functionality, and is now only our our timesheet tracker for hourly employees. Our employees log in, clock in and out, and managers can review timesheets and make edits and add time off.
- Time sheets are easily editable by managers
- Time clock adds breaks automatically
- The system is buggy overall. Employees have challenges getting locked out of the system, receiving errors while tracking time, etc.
- My experience with calling customer service has been sub-par. Some issues I have they cannot assist with or answer, for example I inherited this system when I started at my company, and adjusting permissions/ownership was a headache.
- Watch out for your contract auto-renewals! We did not cancel in time and were locked into a full year of service. They were unwilling to negotiate terms even with a 50% decline in staff due to COVID.
- I don't find it to have a user-friendly interface compared to other HRIS tools I've used in the past.
- Reporting capabilities are lacking.
- Employee self service is lacking.
- Zero positive ROI, we use it as a time tracking tool that I could find for 20% of the cost elsewhere.
I did not choose Namely, the previous head of HR selected it. I do not find Namely to be better in any area than the tools Ive used in the past. Specifically the user interface - some of my employees have limited experience with technology and this system is not intuitive.
