Overall Satisfaction with NetSuite ERP

Netsuite ERP allowed us to gain a better workflow & view between opportunities and invoicing. Currently use NetSuite: FAM, Opp to Invoicing, advanced projects & NSPB
  • Quote --> Invoicing
  • Items (services)
  • Customizations
  • automations (built-in) not a separate module
  • FAM
  • Revenue Reconigiton
  • The number of rates we can associate service level, with individual customers.
  • Clarity between our operations department & accounting
  • Allowed us to visually see where we were "bleeding money"
NetSuite ERP was implemented in place of SAP B1. The limitations we faced we a higher level of granularity, classifications, item management, etc. These limitations, were only limitations due to the need to purchase additional modules or add-ons. The same limitations exist with all software, its finding where your company is comfortable staying at vs paying at.

Yes

I am giving this rating due to where we are at currently. The only downside we are experiencing is the limitations to the number of rates we can associate with customers
The one time I reached out to support for an API issue, they were extremely helpful and we received a reply quickly.
NetSuite ERP is well suited for specific financial tasks such as classifications, multi book accounting, revenue recognition, project management. In my opinion, NetSuite ERP has limitations, such as the number of rates we can have per customer. We had to look for a secondary service provider to handle this. NetSuite ERP has lots of "native" options available, but usually requires the purchase of additional software as well as a separate cost of hiring consultants for the implementation.

Configuring NetSuite ERP

It is very extensive & can be a bit much for someone without experience with the system.
Companies need to invest in a full-time administrator for their NetSuite ERP instance. A lot of people don't believe this, but this person should also have a vested interest in the companies success! By investing in either an existing IT or similar type employee to gain experience and certifications for your companies configurations, you will easily save thousands of dollars down the line. Unfortunately, consultants are not cheap and the amount of hours x their rate can quickly rack up quite the bill. For every additional change or configuration, you are now waiting on them to have the time or even reply to you.... Then paying the usually large consultant rates. Invest in an administrator, it is well worth it (ROI).
Yes - we have customized the interface extensively - Yes, it was easy because I am certified as well as having experience within the NetSuite ERP environment.
Some - we have added small pieces of custom code - To go behind consultants that had broken code added to our environment, difficult. To go behind our own code or add/customize additionally, easy. My company invested in having a NetSuite ERP certified administrator full time
