Overall Satisfaction with Paycom

My organization uses Paycom for time and attendance, payroll, recruitment, benefits, training, expense reimbursement, surveys, and performance management. Paycom allows our employees to access and make changes to their own information online or on the Paycom app. The system is easy to use and has created efficiencies in our recruiting, new employee onboarding, and benefits administration processes to name a few. Paycom allows our managers to focus their time on the business.
  • Employee Time off Requests. My managers love that they can approve time off requests from an email. All the relevant information to make a decision about approving an employee's time off request is listed in the email.
  • The sales representative you work with during the RFP process is with you during the implementation process. They don't sell you a product and move on once the deal is done. I have converted three companies to Paycom because of the functionality of the system and my relationship with my sales representative. Paycom doesn't make promises they can't deliver.
  • I love that when I call Paycom I get a real person not a phone tree system. My dedicated specialist is an extension of my HR Team. And if my dedicated specialist is not available, another capable representative is. The right-hand talks to the left hand in this organization. With previous HRIS providers that were not the case.
  • The online user manuals are very helpful and very good reference material. If I'm working after normal business hours and I'm trying to figure out how to do something in Paycom I can usually pull up an online user manual to figure it out.
  • The expense management module is difficult to use. Often times managers miss expenses leaving the employee to follow up with the status of a reimbursement.
  • I wish Paycom offered benefits and compensation benchmarking data to their customers.
  • Each year we create training plans for our employees. I think it would be great to have an area we can customize, like an evaluation plan, for an employee's annual training plan.
  • The survey section of Paycom lacks customization ability like other systems I've used in the past.
  • We have reduced the time it takes to process payroll by 1 day.
  • With electronic file feeds to the benefits vendors we have significantly reduced time spent doing data entry between two sites. This is especially helpful during annual open enrollment.
  • By switching to the Paycom expense module, we have saved at least $3,000 in fees. We are still in our first year of the module so we are still evaluating the cost savings.
Paycom is hands down a better system than ADP. Since Paycom is built on one platform it is easy to navigate between the modules and the overall functionality of the system is much better. With Paycom you don't have the issue of modules not talking to each other behind the scenes like you do with ADP. Paycom's level of customer service is light-years ahead of ADP. There are no phone trees to get shuffled between and you don't feel like you have been lost in the ether when you call Paycom.

Support and Self-Service

We had a separate applicant tracking system and expense reimbursement system prior to Paycom. Now my managers and employees can access everything all in one place. We have received positive feedback about having everything housed in Paycom. In fact, when we have explored other systems for training we commonly received feedback stating our employees prefer to only have to access one system.
When I did my first benefits open enrollment with Paycom I went in and tried to delete some information that was not relevant to open enrollment. Instead of doing that I deleted all of my employees open enrollment elections for that year, cringe! I called my dedicated specialist in a panic and he was able to reinstate almost of all the elections my employees had made. Had it not been for him, I would have had to do another open enrollment and ask my employees to do it all over again!
Yes, Paycom has enabled our leaders and employees to better manage their own HR information. It's one of the best reasons to get the system. I monitor the Direct Data Exchange and our employee data usage has consistently scored over 97% for 11 months over the past year. Our organization is increasing becoming self sufficient.
