Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

Paylocity has every module we need to complete all our HR and Payroll functions, and much more! Paylocity has allowed us to get rid of so many paper based processes (recruiting, onboarding, offboarding, pay changes, expense reports) which is freeing up more time to work on employee engagement. The tools within the system, like Community and Surveys, are helping us with employee engagement efforts.

We spend a great deal less time on manual data entry for HR in recruiting, onboarding, and employee changes. Once an employee is in the system they flow through all the way to payroll seamlessly! We've eliminated paper approvals and workflows in most areas and can easily see the audit trails of what's happened.
The employee engagement features like Community and Surveys have been very helpful in increasing employee engagement, and we have barely scratched the surface. This has been the type of company where that hasn't been a huge priority, so having those tools built in is so convenient and gives us no excuse not to improve on this. I love Community for announcements, and you can look at who is seeing them and interacting with them. Surveys can be automated for new hires, terms, etc. We haven't done much with Impressions, but some employees have used them without us even officially rolling it out so its very intuitive!
We used Paychex previously and I think Paylocity is much more robust and user friendly. We also had a lot of issues with Paychex support, they just never knew the answer! That does happen with Paylocity sometimes, but they are fairly quick to reach out to their team and find one.
We evaluated Paycom and isolved when we switched to Paylocity. It was close with Paycom, much of the functionality was there. Paylocity had more employee engagement features included.

Paylocity is a great all in one payroll and HR resource, with many extra features. Onboarding all the way to termination is taken care of with applicant tracking, onboarding workflows, time and labor, scheduling, payroll, performance reviews...it's really got everything.
The modules that work really well are payroll, HR management, onboarding, recruiting, learning management, benefits and surveys.
Areas where there is room for improvement are performance management (it is a little clunky), compensation (there isn't enough functionality and customization yet) and some things in time and labor (we've had some issues with time off tracking).
The good news is that Paylocity takes feedback and is always making improvements to the system.
We have had issues with customer support. They rotate around every 6 months or so, so its hard to keep someone good, and you rarely get your assigned account manager on the phone. But most of the people I get on the phone are knowledgeable. I recommend taking a lot of their provided training to make sure you know your system!
