Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

We use Paylocity for the HR and Payroll module for maintaining employee data and running bi-weekly payroll, Time & Labor for time off tracking and time card entry, Market Pay/Compensation for compensation structures, Onboarding for new hires, Performance for 30 and 90-day checkings and mid-yr and annual reviews and journaling, and Recruiting for posting our open positions.

Pros

  • Customer service is very responsive. I like that I am now able to add support tickets from the Client Hub.
  • The Modern Workforce Index allows me to monitor how the site is being used so I can course correct on my communications if needed.
  • It has comprehensive reporting that allows me to run a report for just about any need that comes up.

Cons

  • I would like to see a Community forum that allows users to answer each other's questions to cut down on the need for service tickets.
  • I would like the ability to download the Journal entries out of Paylocity.
  • Not being able to create an excel report of time punches beyond one year from the current date is limiting.
  • The Audit reporting availability makes it easy to determine who made a change to an employees record.
  • The Community section creates an easy way for me to push out information to employees. I like that I am able to attached documents to the announcements.
  • Use of the Modern Workforce Index allows me to find the strong/weak points in system usage which tells me which areas I need to push system training for.
The Recruiting and Onboarding modules allow me to spend more time on the candidate experience without concern that I have missed a step in the process. The Data Insights tools aid me not only in reporting, but in making sure that we are staying diverse in our hiring practices and monitoring turnover.
Of the engagement tools listed, we only use Community. However, we will be utilizing the Surveys in the near future. I'm also pushing to move our current recognition program to the Paylocity system. I believe all of these tools will help to keep a finger on the pulse of the needs of our teams.
My predecessor selected Paylocity, however I prefer it over the other HRIS products that I have used in the past. The only platform that I might prefer more is the UKG Ready system. It has a lot of customizable options that allow the end user to set up the system based on their needs.

Do you think Paylocity delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Paylocity's feature set?

Yes

Did Paylocity live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Paylocity go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Paylocity again?

Yes

As the HR Director, I use Paylocity several times a day for the projects I work on. The year-end dashboard has been very helpful in determining what tasks to prioritize and the communications that need to be send to to employees. It is a great collaborative environment that helps me coordinate with payroll and accounting on a daily basis for project management. I have used other platforms and while Paylocity isn't as robust in some areas, it is user friendly and has really good training materials for users. The addition of the AI has made a marked improvement in troubleshooting.
