Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity
Paylocity is our HRIS, payroll system, and performance management system. Our employees use it to submit time sheets, request time off, see paystubs, access performance reviews, and occasionally take e-learnings. We also handle onboarding through Paylocity. We do not utilize the recruiting module or the survey module at this time.
Pros
- Payroll
- Performance Reviews.
- Administrator Online Training.
- Reporting
Cons
- Employee Filters for Review Assignment.
- Account Manager Knowledge/Customer Service.
- Time-off for hourly vs. salary.
- Change codes/reasons.
- Reduced Cost.
- Integrated Performance Management.
- Better Workforce Visibility.
We use automation for Payroll in for payroll but not much else. We tried to use their workflows for employee changes, but we found they were not robust enough to capture all the items we were looking to capture. I wish there were more training on the automation available within Paylocity.
We really enjoy using Impressions. We have more formal employee recognition programs (similar to Employee of the Month), but having a great peer-to-peer, more casual way to recognize people. We also imported our own company values into the Impressions portal so that employees can recognize each other based on the values that we strive for.

Configuring Paylocity
Test and test again. The products don't always make it clear so you need to do your own testing and make your own decisions.
Some - we have done small customizations to the interface - We customized the performance reviews a lot. The scores did not average correctly, we let Paylocity know and they said it was a known issue. This seems very foundational for what the product is supposed to do. Very disappointing.
No - we have not done any custom code
Custom reports cost $375.
