Overall Satisfaction with Rippling

We use Rippling as our HRIS and for payroll. It's the canonical system for our People and HR teams. It's also used to provision access to our core systems immediately upon hiring, and to take them away upon departure. We use Rippling across four offices, a remote user base, and two countries.

Pros

  • Payroll
  • Employee Onboarding
  • HR Reporting

Cons

  • Migration process from other MDM providers, like Kandji
  • More suggested reports telling People teams what they should be looking at daily
  • More connectors to new apps
  • We have to employ fewer contractors as a result of using Rippling
  • Our reporting takes dramatically less time
  • Our onboarding process is significantly faster and more predictable
Light years better from a usability standpoint. Easier to scale with than Gusto, which really starts to fall apart at about 100 employees. And finally, the ability to integrate with a majority of the systems we're already using today and to provision (and deprovision) those in sync with when someone starts work or leaves a job is very helpful.
It's OK. Could be better. When it comes to support across all technology companies, it's slightly above average. But there are still countless times where you'll have a question that's one step above basic and you have to get escalated to tier 2 support, which is frustrating. Still, you do wind up getting what you need at the end.

Do you think Rippling delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Rippling's feature set?

Yes

Did Rippling live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Rippling go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Rippling again?

Yes

Generally, the application behaves the way you would expect it to. Most of the bugs and weirdness happens with the different integrations. Not all of them are "native" or "top-tier" but there is a marked difference between those that are in early development and the ones that are clearly used a lot.
Rippling isn't well suited for a 1-5 person super small company, unless you're planning to raise capital quickly and scale headcount immediately.

But if that is your profile, it makes life significantly easier. Startups, especially venture-backed startups, really feel like this company's bread and butter. They have very quickly replaced Gusto for many, and are a no-brainer for a company who's about to outgrow that platform.
