Overall Satisfaction with ScienceLogic SL1

We use it mainly to get monitoring data for our devices. It being used specifically in my department and the neighboring teams. We just use ScienceLogic API to get the respective details mentioned above.
  • UI is good.
  • Alerts feature has been beneficial.
  • API makes it easy to pull data for developers.
  • API are not robust since they fail sometimes due to multiple requests.
  • API documentation could be bettered.
  • UI is a little slow and dodgy sometimes.
  • Mainly makes network management process simpler.
  • Great options with respect to functionality.
  • Provides one stop solution for all data needs.

It is an org level visibility.
We mainly use ScienceLogic to develop a proactive monitoring system which helps us avoid critical incidents.
Processes are quite simple making it easy to work with.

No other products used in my experience besides ScienceLogic.
Specially suited for monitoring and retrieving device related data in various teams, specifically network services teams.

ScienceLogic SL1 Reliability

The science logic UI is pretty neat and available most of the time in my experience, but i have face a couple of problems with the science logic API. The problems faced have been especially in terms of server load while calling the science logic bulk API's to retrieve infra data
Science logic is a heavy application because of the amount of data it collects and so the time usually depends on the operation performed, thought it takes a few more seconds for heavy operations it is acceptable. the main pages and screen load rather quickly, but there is a time lag after the login is performed, so I'm guessing the lag is where all the data is actually being loaded onto the main screen

The most important factor for us as a corporate team was Product features, since we handle thousands of devices at a time, it is really important for our team to have a centralised view of the application and all infrastructure devices, which science logic manages to do quite well on the dashboard.
I would still prioritise product features over anything else but after the recent usage I might consider the quality of support and the speed of the application as mandatory factors while judging any application. I would also look at the product pipeline and see if any of the planned releases and updates will help me in my future developments.
