Overall Satisfaction with ScreenConnect

We deploy screenconnect to centralize remote access into our client environments. All of our support and technical project staff uses the product to support our customers. It helps us quickly jump into their environments without engineering a client VPN solution or other modes of access. It's secure and easy to maintain.
  • It gets by UAC so we can remotely use our admin passwords on machines to install software and other administrative tasks.
  • Centralizes everything in a SaaS solution so we don't have to maintain another server.
  • Its secure and enables us to quickly install the product and get to supporting our customers in a shorter span of time.
  • We could use an integration into our help desk, FreshService. This would enable us to click on a user to gain access to their PC or click on an asset item in freshservice.
  • More reporting on who is connecting and for how long and what is being done when connected. It would be a really cool feature to auto record sessions and store them in the cloud or attach directly to the ticket as an audit trail.
  • Overall software cost was minimal and contributed to high ROI.
  • Speed of connections was great, never had any issues.
  • Connecting with users that didn't have it pre-installed was not a hassle like other vendors.
  • By-passing UAC (User Account Control) within Windows is always a big barrier with remote access software, however, this was not an issue with ScreenConnect's ability for us to type in our administrative login credentials remotely.
  • Never had connection or update issues. Since it's mission critical software, it did a great job enabling us to remotely connect during emergencies.
We just needed a focused product on remote management and didn't need all the bells and whistles of other vendors. We have dedicated management software in each area of our needs (i.e. monitoring, patch management, etc.) and don't generally like to deploy software that tries to do everything. With that said, it eventually came down to cost since it met all of our feature/vendor requirements.
It's great for simple remote access into Windows-based devices. You can easily connect in an unattended fashion or give a user a one-time access link/code. It probably has the most attractive pricing and does exactly what it's focused on, remote management for Windows. I wouldn't use it if you need really advanced use cases or specific needs. It should be for simple, cost-effective remote management.
