Overall Satisfaction with Seismic

Seismic is used as a document storage repository that can be accessed by individual contributors, customer service managers, business development managers, marketing teams, and revenue operations teams. As documents are accessed, they can be sent to customers and tracking is applied to see who looks at the document and for how long.

Pros

  • tracking metrics
  • data
  • layout

Cons

  • organization
  • user experience
  • finding documents
  • viewing documents
  • expensive
  • decreased efficiency by 30%
  • shelfware
Seismic does provide a repository for documents but, in my experience, the accessibility and user experience is degraded to the point that it takes more time to find the documents desired than is worth the time. To me, the organization of the software is not intuitive and causes more consternation than joy. Documents are not easily found and can be challenging to update for us.
Highspot was used at a different organization and seems to me to be superior in user interface, tracking metrics, and efficiency. Seismic was purchased for our current organization with no solution previously in place. In my experience, Seismic lacks features for guiding and training reps and is limited to content. Seismic was selected for price point more than anything.

Do you think Seismic Content delivers good value for the price?

No

Are you happy with Seismic Content's feature set?

No

Did Seismic Content live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of Seismic Content go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Seismic Content again?

No

So far, my experience with Seismic has been sub-par. I think content is difficult to find, challenging to maintain or update, and not in an organization that is user friendly. Though the metrics that are tracked are quality, my user experience and interface are so poor that I don't use Seismic as it hampers my efficiency.
