Overall Satisfaction with Shift

I own marketing/graphic design agency. Shift allows me to create separate workspaces for each client, providing the opportunity to stay logged into several different accounts for each platform (WordPress, Squarespace, Klaviyo, Asana, Dropbox, Google Drive, social media/scheduling platforms, etc). This saves time and keeps me organized without having to log in and out every time I switch clients. Furthermore, this keeps all accounts safe and avoids being flagged for frequent logins.

Pros

  • Ability to create separate workspaces for each brand/client.
  • Ability to easily identify each workspace with custom icons.
  • Ability to save passwords specific to each workspace.

Cons

  • The browser itself leaves a lot to be desired.
  • I would like to see more seamless integration with Google Chrome extensions.
  • The WordPress app is especially glitchy.
  • Initially, Shift had a great ROI.
  • Unfortunately, the current pricing structure for Shift has not resulted in sufficient or sustainable ROI.
  • Ultimately, Shift does save time and keeps me organized, which is extremely valuable with my limited resources.
Shift is great when it's great! When it's not though it's basically useless. It can be soooo glitchy for my needs. And many times I find myself frustrated and returning to my standard (Chrome) browser to complete certain tasks. This is especially true with WordPress, opening links in new tabs, Shift tends to lose "custom domains" for apps, and often passwords aren't saved.
While I have not looked into other apps, I have considered (and do use, to some extent), Google Profiles. In my opinion, Shift is much preferable to Google Profiles and works much better!

Do you think Shift delivers good value for the price?

No

Are you happy with Shift's feature set?

No

Did Shift live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Shift go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Shift again?

Yes

Shift is great for people who work in marketing and are looking for an easier way to manage access to several different accounts in the same platform. For in house designers and marketers, Shift would not be super helpful since there is no need to manage access to many different accounts.

Using Shift

1 - Marketing, graphic design, invoicing, project management, and all functions that would otherwise be completed by a web browser.
1 - Marketing, graphic design, invoicing, project management, research, sourcing, content creation.
  • Marketing
  • Graphic Design
  • Copywriting
  • Separation of resources for each client
  • Better performance
  • Better UX
The sole reason why I will not renew is because of the cost increase. It is simply not justified given the performance of the product.

Shift Support

Customer service was always helpful, friendly, and responsive whenever I needed to contact them for support.

Yes - Somewhat. When Shift upgrades versions, it leaves a lot to be desired. For a while Workspaces weren't available on the latest version, which seems ridiculous given it's the core function of the product. Why release a version that did not support Workspaces?! I had to uninstall the new version and install the old one.
