Overall Satisfaction with Slack
- talk between colleagues.

problems it addresses:
- quick responses
- checking online status of colleagues
- notifications that meetings are starting
- clarification of tasks at hand
- available desktop and mobile for anywhere and customizable notifications
- available in all formats
- notification settings are pretty detailed
- allows threads
- issues on chrome, phone, especially older hardware
- harder to find people of messages you've sent before. need to have another option with recent contacts that aren't starred. and channels
- separate group messages from direct messages in starred
- mobile version
- zoom room creation
- status updates on colleagues
- positive is easy
- negative is another new software for people not familiar
- negative is not open to everyone
- negative is people can create havoc, like in media, by starting things that are false
- negative is people can gossip easily and won't be found out - too easy to create toxic work environment
- positive to get things going and easily notify employees of important things or meetings
i didn't choose Slack - Slack chose me. i am familiar with Skype but i don't know all its functionalities so i cannot say if Slack is better or not. i feel like Skype lags a lot and takes up too much space when replying to another message. Rocket.Chat is great. it could have improvements to show the person typing vs message because it shows almost the same way, I don't know if it's a message or just the username of the person in the text trail
