Overall Satisfaction with Splashtop
I use Splashtop to remote access and deploy antivirus to my customers machines. Mostly Servers and key staff PC, using SOS for other staff as required. I've found it cost effective and efficient and allows me quick, reliable access as needed. It is deployed across a wide variety of customers and connections.
Pros
- Reliable on demand remote access
- quick deployment
- easy management
Cons
- Business App has a habit of crashing now and then and needing restarting
- Reliability of antivirus deployment needs some work
- Increased flexibility and reporting from Antivirus
- It has reduced travel requirements by improving remote access to machines
- The cost of Splashtop has gone up significantly over time (but much less so than some competitors)
- Licensing jumps are sometime off putting to taking on additional services
I'm perfectly content with the security implementations by Splashtop and trust it to be secure, given i'm connecting into clients servers holding confidential info this is a real priority. They appear to always looking at how this can be improved and it moves forward over time.
It was very quick to get up and running with Splashtop, initial deployment was straightforward and got client installed on test machines quickly. The options to self deploy or get clients to install themselves were useful and i liked the customization options to use my branding especially. The on demand SOS feature works well, with just sending a link for the client to click on and them giving you a 9 digit code to connect.
Yes - Logmein - cost increase was becoming unsupportable
