Overall Satisfaction with SurveyMonkey

We use SurveyMonkey for several different applications in our organization. First, we use it as a primary research tool when the project is smaller in scope and doesn't require the engagement of a full research team. Second, we use it as a tool to generate potentially newsworthy statistics that can be used as the basis for a media pitch or as a support point to illustrate an important aspect of the story.
  • SurveyMonkey's survey programming features are extremely intuitive. Someone who has never used it before can, with little direction or training, easily set up a simple - or comprehensive - survey in a matter of minutes.
  • Real-time reporting and analytics tools are extremely helpful to keep everyone involved informed on an ongoing basis.
  • Virtually any kind of question or answer format can be programmed into your SurveyMonkey survey.
  • Recognizing that there are more limitations when it comes to a mobile interface vs. a desktop interface, I would love to see more profound levels of programming functionality on the mobile side.
  • It would be helpful to have better access to greater levels of third-party results analysis, particularly as it relates to open-ended questions and answers.
  • As an admin, it would be very cool if SurveyMonkey were able to use AI to match the survey we're building (questions, topics, target respondents, etc.) to existing results that might negate the need to ask certain questions in our surveys.
  • The speed at which we can develop, program, execute and generate actual usable results provides significant value, particularly when we need fresh numbers to illustrate a point.
  • The fact that we can execute a research project so quickly means that new research is always a primary option when we're developing campaigns. That's a huge value proposition.
In my opinion, SurveyMonkey is the gold standard. Google Forms and Google Surveys, while being able to connect easily to other Google tools, are not as adept or intuitive as SurveyMonkey is. Google is trying to be all things for all people, and while it does a lot of those things well, interactive survey deployment may be too narrow for it to compete as effectively. Doodle is a fine tool, but its focus is more limited and we do use it for very small internal needs on occasion. Although it's a very solid survey tool, we found SurveySparrow to be more expensive without adding much more value.

Because it's been around for such a long time, and because it's benefitted from good visionary leadership that has taken it in the right direction, SurveyMonkey has always focused on having intuitive controls that work to eliminate stress and add high value when needed. Reporting modules and real-time insights are very helpful when we're actively running a campaign.
We haven't had much of a need to engage the support team for SurveyMonkey, which is in itself another reason this company shines.
SurveyMonkey is a high-value, cost-effective solution when you need to generate more basic levels of research that can be used for a wide variety of applications across the organization. If I can avoid the cost, aggravation and time it takes to engage a third-party research firm and use a tool like SurveyMonkey to generate what I need, I will do so.
