Overall Satisfaction with TeamViewer

I've used TeamViewer in remote control use cases when some colleagues needed my help installing new software or to help them solve some configuration issues on their machines.
Outside of work, I've used it to help friends and family solve problems on their computers as well, so it is a tool that I use often to do some help desk tasks. It is a simple but effective tool to use to do these operations.
  • Remote desktop connection
  • No need to have an account in order to use it
  • Simple installation
  • Easiness to share connection info (using ID and password)
  • The need to have the same version of the app on both endpoints
  • The adds that are presented in the free version are unnecessary
  • Constant need to do updates on the app to make it usable
  • Solving works problems easier and faster
  • Managing remote servers or virtual machines
TeamViewer's main advantage is its cross-platform compatibility, meaning that you can use it on other operating systems other than Windows. The main features are present in both tools, like file transfer and taking control of the endpoint machine. Teamviewer is a third-party app that needs to be installed and often updated, whereas Remote Desktop Connection on Windows is a built-in tool that comes along with the SO, but its cross-platform ability makes it a better choice to use across our entire infrastructure.

Would you buy TeamViewer again?

Yes

The easiness to install in any device, including on phones, and use in remote control use cases made every help desk process simple and more agile, which resulted in fast problem solving mechanisms. The fact that you don't need to register in order to use it made its usage even better and smoothly, because we didn't need to use any personal/professional info to get things done.
We used it with single sign-on authentication, which made everything easier and simpler to use.
The easiness to use in remote control use cases, the ability to transfer files between endpoints, and the fact that you don't need to register in order to use it are some of the main advantages of this tool. Despite that, the need to have the exact same version in both endpoints so that the communication work it's a bumper. The ads are also a negative point of the free version and count on having to do updates on the app quite often.
