Overall Satisfaction with TeamViewer
We use it to remote into end user computers for the company. We also have a select few users that are outside of IT that use TeamViewer Full Client for remoting into their desktops that work from home. Some occasions we use Teamviewer to run remote scripts and remote file browser but only if we are trying to fix things in the background without interrupting the user from their work.
- Remote Console view to fix issues on users laptops
- Auto config and auto install
- Organization in UI of computers with TeamViewer installed
- Easy to make groups of computers that others can access based on access controls
- There are ads that pop every now and then. I get ads but not really on an already paid product
- I wish you could do a batch script install. Where you could select multiple computers to run one script on at once, instead of one by one.
- I wish you could edit users within the Desktop Client instead of having to go to the web app to manage.
- Positive - Being able to remote into a computer without being on our LAN with RDP saves time and confusion. Both for the end user and the person trying to remote in.
- Negative impact - When TeamViewer is not working (has rarely happened in the past 7 years), sometimes is hard to get into the end users computer when TeamViewer is not an option. Being able to see the login screen can help figure out the computer name if you need it, and nice being able to log in as someone else if you need a quick switch. Can be done with RDP but can sometimes not be as easy.
- Positive Impact - having the option to auto install and install with a config saves time and unifies the settings, which makes life easier.
Almost instantly. TeamViewer was deployed before I started but even from my first day and not having that tool under my belt, would have made things really difficult.
Do you think TeamViewer delivers good value for the price?
Yes
Are you happy with TeamViewer's feature set?
Yes
Did TeamViewer live up to sales and marketing promises?
I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process
Did implementation of TeamViewer go as expected?
I wasn't involved with the implementation phase
Would you buy TeamViewer again?
Yes
I was not a part of the implementation but I do continue the push for new computers and mass push for updates to the company. That portion is pretty easy, sometimes you have to fight the auto config import to the client. There are some caveats to the config that sometimes only works with certain versions but it is not terrible to figure out.
Everyone in our department are primary users and can remote into every computer in the company. Since we have all that access, we are required to secure our TeamViewer accounts with MFA. I have never had an issue other than not being able to use an app code which I later found out was due to my computer time being off. So that was actually a computer issue and not TeamViewer.
