Overall Satisfaction with TeamViewer

After careful comparison and evaluation, we finally picked TeamViewer for three relevant attributes: it works as powerful remote access, has a simple dashboard, and offers additional features like file transfers and the capability to have more than one user logged on at the same time, which were exactly what we needed for our business workflow analysis.
In cases where immediate time collaboration is necessary on complex documents or project plans, TeamViewer shines. It is especially good for distributed teams creating documentation of business requirements, and particularly it needs visual collaboration. In the context of quick troubleshooting or guidance, it’s a star, for example, helping a colleague walk through a new process remotely.

Pros

  • Works across every different OS and devices.
  • Allows remote file sharing in a highly encrypted format.
  • It supports hosting and joining a single remote session by multiple participants.

Cons

  • Latency issues on peak periods.
  • Not many customization options of the user interface for the user.
  • A slightly complex setup for the initial users in large organizations.
  • Eases the remote planning and documentation of a project.
  • Better collaboration and hence better quality business requirements documents.
  • Improved ability to offer ongoing support to project team members via eliminating delays.
  • However, on the initial learning curve, we suffered a bit in terms of productivity for some team members.
After only 3 months of rollout, we began to see tangible economic benefits from TeamViewer. Soon enough, investment in employee training for remote collaboration (which is certainly within a budget) will quickly be paid off due to the cost savings of reduced travel to personally team meetings and the productivity gained through more efficient remote collaboration.
Before TeamViewer, our team tried out Microsoft Teams, and LogMeIn as tools for collaborating. While they both did well in their own individual right, TeamViewer managed to earn praise by showcasing some robust remote access and collaboration features.

Did TeamViewer live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of TeamViewer go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy TeamViewer again?

Yes

Due to the robust security features inherent in TeamViewer, our organization has used TeamViewer to full advantage in the confidentiality and integrity of our remote collaboration sessions. To simplify access while maintaining high security protocols, we've set things up so that all network access is through single sign on (SSO).
Though, TeamViewer might not make sense for jobs that don't require precise time interaction or screen sharing. For example, it may be too much for simple file transfers or basic communication when less intensive tools would do the trick. In environments where there are strict security protocols tightly mandating that external remote access tools such as TeamViewer are not in use, TeamViewer is trimmed down to its bare basics and cannot operate at full potential.
