Overall Satisfaction with Todoist

As a freelance photographer, I need to stay organized. I always have multiple projects going on all at once. I've been using Todoist for about three years and it has helped me to make sure that I get both my business and personal work done. I love how easily it syncs between my computer and phone.
  • I like how Todoist has the ability to create subtasks which helps to keep me on track of entire projects.
  • Todoist integrates with tons of apps including Google Assistant. If you are already part of the G Suite's world, this is a great option to have. I also love how it integrates with the Chrome browser. I use it a lot to mark websites that I want to read later.
  • The app is missing a lot of functionality unless you pay the monthly fee.
  • The reminders function doesn't work unless you are on the paid plan. A todo app without reminders is almost useless for me.
  • Before I started using Todoist, I used Google Keep and lots of notepads to try and stay organized. Many projects would get lost in all the clutter. Todoist has helped me keep all of my tasks in one area so I don't forget any. More work done, means more money made.
  • Creating custom views is a bit of a pain. As an example, if I only want to see the task for a certain project that is due in the next 7 days, I need to spend lots of time fiddling with the app to do this. More time spent on trying to get the app to do what I want means less time I have to spend on doing the actual work. It feels a bit overwhelming in this sense and I use the app less and less due to this issue.
Google Keep is what I used to use. It works in a pinch but is not really made as a todo app and therefore is missing lots of needed features. But I do like the way that it integrates with the rest of the Google/Android platform. Google Tasks is terrible and lacks any kind of organization features and does not play well with G Suite.

Would you buy Todoist again?

Yes

I did my due diligence when searching for a todo app. Todoist is the industry leader for a reason. It is very easy to add new tasks and subtasks using Google Assistant. That feature isn't flawless though, you have to ask Google Assistant to talk to Todoist before giving any commands. You really need to have the paid version to get the most out of the app. I start my day with a list of daily tasks. I still do this the old fashioned way by writing down my tasks for the day on a sheet of paper. It just seems easier for me to do it that way.
