Overall Satisfaction with TriNet

We use TriNet company-wide for payroll, time-keeping, benefits, 401k, learning (sexual harassment), and applicant tracking. Having an integrated system is important to us. We were looking for a "one-stop shop."
  • Ensuring compliance in multiple states.
  • Benefit offerings are extensive.
  • Seamless integration with 401k plan.
  • Auto feed from TriNet time to payroll grid (no download/upload).
  • When new hires miss the current pay period (i.e. they start just before the pay date), the stub period (days not paid on previous payroll due to start date) is not consistently added to the next payroll.
  • Unlimited PTO is tracked going "negative" since there is no accrual. Although we offer unlimited, we still want to track use.
Support is generally very responsive, though certainly not perfect. The majority of our company, as well as myself, are in California and it is hard to get a representative who is in the Pacific Time zone, much less one who has good experience with California labor laws. The legal representatives are excellent and very responsive.
The main platform is pretty user-friendly/easy to find things. TriNet Learn and Time and not as user-friendly and can be a bit clunky.
  • Definitely reduces administrative tasks, especially 401k administration--all integrated!
  • Employee onboarding is fast and user-friendly.
  • Less chance for errors with integrated systems.

Would you buy TriNet again?

Yes

TriNet is great for handling multiple states with an integrated platform. It is an all-in-one solution for payroll, time-keeping, benefits, 401k, applicant tracking and some training. Smaller businesses can be complex when it comes to HR/payroll and TriNet has great capabilities and resources to assist in most areas. The benefits savings on being part of a large company (co-employer) versus being on a small employer plan are significant. The fees are probably not justified for a smaller employer in one state.
