Overall Satisfaction with UserTesting

It's being used by a small user research team (2 people) but the results are widely shared throughout the product and tech org. It helps us with usability testing and live fan interviews across multiple digital products and apps. All the data we uncover gets directed reported back to the folks who are designing and developing those products.
  • It's fast. Usually you can get results within hours.
  • It's great at helping discover insights, cutting clips, identifying patterns and summarizing results.
  • It's easy to use and set up tests.
  • It makes sharing results and data with the rest of the team simple.
  • I wish you could delete a test.
  • I want to be able to test across other platforms, such as TVs and connected devices.
  • There should be a better way to organize and search for clips, tests and results.
  • IT'S EXPENSIVE.
  • We've increased ticketing conversion rates.
  • We also increased subscriptions by rearranging the steps in the check out process (something we first discovered via UserTesting).
Oh the support is awesome. And it's not just if something goes wrong. Support folks are there to help you set up tests, find the right audience or ask the best questions. We also love the deep dive sessions that we've had where UserTesting helps our team explore one area of the product.
We've typically had a great experience using it. It's intuitive and easy to figure out. There are a couple things here and there that I don't understand, but overall UserTesting has thoughtful and great usability. They are clearly using their own advice to make sure that it's as usable as possible.
We can pretty much target any segment of our audience (and if we can't, we can always recruit our own participants). It helps our designers iterate quickly on their designs and test often at each stage of the process. It also allows us to confidently make product decisions and present data-backed designs to stakeholders and higher ups.
There's no contest. UserTesting blows competitors out of the water. The usability of their product, the huge userbase of participants, and the overall support gives the product a huge leg up on other products we've tried in the past. That comes with a cost though, but it's well. worth. the money.
It's great for all things usability, heuristic or task-based testing, especially if you have high fidelity prototypes. It is also great for user interviews (with your own user base or theirs). It's less useful in my opinion when asking for opinions or preferences from participants, or when you want to target a super specific audience.
