Overall Satisfaction with UserTesting

Working in marketing, we use UserTesting to help us surface user pain points and feedback that are then fed back to our optimisation squads. The squads pick out these opportunities for testing and we a/b test hypotheses backed by user research which helps drive conversion rates. We also use UserTesting to conduct user research on prototypes to allow us to get early feedback and for designers to iterate on experiences before they've ever even launched on the website.

Pros

  • Multi-method studies
  • Visualising results
  • Centralised repository of research

Cons

  • AI functionality in UserTesting and EnjoyHQ
  • Participant quality in UserTesting
  • Better recruitment numbers for niche profiles
  • Increased conversion rate
  • Research backed experimentation hypotheses
  • Tracking recurring issues over time
For easy and quick fixes, the UserTesting and EnjoyHQ support teams are on the ball and resolutions are quick and efficient. But for any complex issues required R&D escalation or for anything relating to recruitment of niche segments they seem to be lacking. We've also had an issue where we seem to raise the same ticket time and time again which can be annoying and frustrating and feels like it's wasting time.
I think UserTesting and EnjoyHQ are both easy to use and intuitive platforms. I think the way studies can be built makes sense and the fact that you can use a range of methodologies in different combinations really allows for creative freedom in the user research process.

I docked one point because sometimes I find the actual setup of a study a bit difficult for example changing the text showing on a button or the colours used in a study or any logos etc. It's not often that we need to do this but when we do it seems to be housed in an unintuitive place.
Our optimisation process always begins with user research and without tools like UserTesting, we wouldn't be able to optimise the web experience. UserTesting allows us to get real user feedback quickly and utilising a range of methodologies to retrieve user pain points, delights and recommendations to feed into the optimisation process.

UserTesting allows us to clip from recordings of studies which we find the most important and impactful ways of sharing user feedback.

Because of UserTesting we're improving our web experiences every day and helping to inform key strategic decisions.
We use both UserTesting and Userlytics in conjunction with each other. Userlytics we find to be stronger with 1-2-1 moderated study set up due to it being really simple and intuitive for both the researcher and the participant to use. Userlytics also utilises AI analysis of transcripts and sentiment analysis which helps us speed up our analysis of results.

UserTesting is way stronger on the unmoderated front due to the range of methodologies you can use in one study and the rich feedback gleaned from participants. UserTesting is also much stronger in the visualisation of results and integrations with other platforms like EnjoyHQ.

Do you think UserTesting delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with UserTesting's feature set?

Yes

Did UserTesting live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of UserTesting go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy UserTesting again?

Yes

We're currently using the UserTesting and EnjoyHQ platforms and we love the integrations between them. UserTesting allows us to run a plethora of multi-method studies and importantly, QXScore studies which help us internally benchmark our web experiences and track improvements. EnjoyHQ allows us to have a centralised repository of research insights, data analytics findings and experimentation results that keep our findings living and breathing with clear evidence and summaries and allows for stakeholders to self-serve insights which free's up the researchers to run more research.

I'm anticipating the future of AI in UserTesting and EnjoyHQ which currently doesn't exist. I know there are some interesting plans for this and it's something currently lacking in the platforms we use so very exciting stuff. We also have run into recent issues with the recruitment panels either not being able to achieve the numbers we need or having poor quality results.
