Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use the application to communicate with co-workers as well as project and team meetings as well as meetings with experts. This is my main collaboration tool. So I use both chat - text, video calls - through the application, through the browser, and over the phone. Communication, Ad hoc communication, Meetings, teleconferences,[and] Team meetings. Support for scrum work (Agile methodology).

The scope of my usecase is as follows:
Daily team meetings (scrum ceremonies).
Agile work support.Thematic groups (project, but also not related to work).
Design spaces.
One-to-one ad hoc communication (text, chat)Teleconferences (video, sound)

Pros and Cons

Pros

Adding details for launching meetings in invitation: links, direct call numbers.
Ease space creation (dedicated place for at least 2 people).
Layout of navigation, buttons and sections in call mode.

Cons

Performance - oftentimes connection breaks, trouble wiith joining.
Bugs happen - I can't recall them all, but at least one annoying [thing] is that you can't share your screen. Sometimes you can't hear or be heard by others.
Competitors have many connected apps and tools in suite, Webex App is poor in comparison [from my experience].

Return on Investment

Because of the performance and bugs it slows users down = lost capacity.
Notifications not always appear which leads to situation that important message can be ommited which in return doesn't add to positive impact.
This tool yet is critical as without it, it would be hard to effectively communicate.

Alternatives Considered

Microsoft Teams, Slack, Zoom, Zoom Video Webinar and Skype

In [the] German part of my organization, where I work, for long years Webex was the only tool for video calls, but also used as [a] main text communication tool for instant/ad hoc messaging. Recently MS Teams was added (and also used in other org. units of group). I value more MS Teams for it's versatility and reliability when it comes to performance. But for now habit wins. Everyone knows Webex and how to operate it, and most times it works just fine. Yet bugs and performance issues tend to be annoying and I'm looking forward to starting to set some of [my] meetings via Teams...

Support Rating

I gave 5 because I don't have much of a experience with support for Webex. If it was not working I tried simple rule of switching it off and on again or re-booting my computer. Usually it helped, maybe some patch was needed or anything else. But I believe that proactive prompts with information what should I do on such occasions would be value added.

Usability

Not great, not terrible. For [the] most time it works things out. It serves for purposes I require it. Collaboration and communication. Scheduling is pretty good, with seamless outlook integration. User Interface is solid and easy to navigate. In many cases Webex reminds me of MS Teams which I value more. But some bugs, performance issues and lack of few functions I would like to use makes it poor cousin to MS Teams [in my opinion].

Likelihood to Recommend

If you want to have meetings with many people Webex App is not that good in my opinion. Performance is not that good. It is [a] very good tool for 1-to-1 communications. Either via video and chat. It can be used in context of agile way of working. Spaces for different groups of specialists, video calls etc. This is tool we use in our organization and do it on [an] acceptable level.

Not great not terrible. Webex App does its job. If only few issues would be fixed...
