Overall Satisfaction with Wrike
I use Wrike to manage research projects, course design, and grading with student readers h and teaching assistants. I also teach my masters level students project management skills by having them use Wrike as they work in teams to do projects with community partner organizations. I have 9 workspaces, hundreds of projects, and 35 paid users at this point under my account.
- Visualizing projects taken in multiple ways to meet the preferences of each team member
- Keeps me on track and remember who is assigned to do what tasks. Our weekly one on one meetings are functional because we both know what expectations were set for each person to move the project forward over the last 7 days
- I love not having to keep track of a ton of email threads related to various projects. The integration with Outlook makes it easy to assign an email as a new task to myself and others or to add it as a comment on an existing thread. I LOVE this feature.
- I wish there were a clearer way of visualizing shared spaces within my own workspace bar on the left of the screen. Maybe an option to make shared spaces/projects viewable or hidden?
- Right now many of my collaborators have a hard time finding it under the small “shared with me” button.
- Many of my collaborators and users are students so they have their own spaces used for personal projects and homework.
- Saves me hours every week, so easily thousands of dollars saved per year in time savings for me individually
- Teaching students project management skills also gives them an opportunity to have a tangible increase in salary upon hire.
I used Podio (Citrix) and the Globoflow add-on for 4 years. It was highly customizable but required a ton of time to build and maintain. It didn’t become as user-friendly as the competitors over time. When I changed institutions in 2018 I tested several competitors and chose Wrike because I liked the organizational flow. The lowest-paid tier also had the most available features at the time in comparison to major competitors.
