Overall Satisfaction with Wrike

We use Wrike for general project management for the operations side of technical project deployments to track tasks, timelines, and dependencies. We also utilize it for team time tracking against project timelines and specific project phases. Additionally, we use it to create staffing need forecasts based on the existing project blueprints.

Pros

  • Easy blueprint creation and maintenance
  • Easy usage for time tracking
  • Ability to create external views
  • Ability to export data

Cons

  • Easy of moving common phases between projects
  • Speed - sometimes reports spin for a bit
  • Wish it would highlight timeline gaps as potential user error
  • Our ROI has been focused on time savings - no hard number but we save a lot of man hours not manually creating Gantts and trying to manage projects solely in Jira
We have not explored these.
After the initial learning curve and after we got all of our blueprints set up, we've found it quite easy to use. It's fairly intuitive, and we are able to ask questions of Wrike support when we get stumped. It did take our teams a few months to get fully ramped on it, particularly with how to set up all of the right dependencies and establish the reports we needed regularly.
We used Trello (free version) previously and it worked for us for when we were smaller and not ready to spend on a true PM software. The other options either did not fit from a functionality or price standpoint when we were comparing them. Smartsheet checked the boxes we needed.

Do you think Wrike delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Wrike's feature set?

Yes

Did Wrike live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Wrike go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Wrike again?

Yes

It works well as a project management tool for more of the operations space, and we've found a lot of success using it there. We did have to lean heavily on our Wrike rep at first for initial set-up. It does not take the place of something like Atlassian - we still do need to use Jira and Confluence for technical tracking and more of our narrative tracking so it's definitely a tool in the belt versus a full-scale solution.
