Overall Satisfaction with Xero

I use Xero to manage my IT company, it's easy to use and easy to train new users.

Pros

  • Bank reconciliation
  • Report generation
  • Graphs and projections
  • Invoices, quotes and bills
  • Mobile app
  • Xero Support

Cons

  • Add offline version (very important for third world countries like Vanuatu)
  • Payment portals (add more and add WordPress integration)
  • Duplicates during bank reconciliation imports
  • Allow customers to create an online account from which they can access all their past transactions (invoices, quotes and bills) on the Portal
  • Allow more dashboard customization (more graphs)
  • Reduced errors
  • Time saved (no backups, quick reports, Xero Support)
  • Improved financial stability and projection
Because Xero is very easy to use, the interface is fresh and modern. It's comfortable to use.
I think that the lack of an offline version of Xero is an issue for third-world countries with poor Internet connectivity like Vanuatu. Xero should be cloud-based with a desktop client that can run offline and sync changes when Internet is back. Many of my clients based in Vanuatu declined proposals of migration from a Xero competitor to Xero because Xero can't be used offline.
In my opinion, the main competitor to Xero is QuickBooks but I migrated from QuickBooks to Xero because I was looking for an accounting software with an interface easier to use.

Using Xero

1 - Director
No one really, Xero is very easy to setup and use. Support is more required for the accounting part of it but this has nothing to do with Xero as a software.
  • Invoice management
  • Bank reconciliation for tax return
  • Financial performance tracking
  • See when customers open invoices or not
  • Bank reconciliation automatic field filling and automatic matches
  • Generate critical reports with a single click for tax return for example
  • Integrate a custom payment portal to Xero
  • Integrate Xero to a retail POS system
Because Xero is very easy to use and doesn't crash.
