Human Interest offers three products, for a choice of 401(k) or 403(b) that fits an organization's needs. All plans offer an all-in-one, no touch 401(k) to make it easy for employers to run and for employees to save. All plans have a setup fee of $499.
*Human Interest's average employee expense is 0.57%, compared to a 1.64% average for small 401(k) plans. Source: 401(k) Averages Book, 18th Edition.
[ADP Mobile Solutions is] appropriate for when your at home and you need to request time off. It's also nice to see your benefits that you elected and be able to do open enrollment for benefits via the app. They can see their paystubs and their W2's and your able to print or email those documents to yourself.
I would say Human Interest is easy to use once you figure out the quirks.. it is best used by an experienced HR person. If you do not have a ton of experience with 401K plans, it is not easy to use in the beginning. The payment schedule is also not timed with your contribution dates.. this can make reconciling difficult
I love the basic login functionality. Other apps make you type in your username, password and then some additional information like what is your first pets name. For this - once I pull up the App my username is already there and I just need to add in my password. It only saves a few minutes but sometimes that is the difference between signing in and doing it on a desktop later.
I also love the basic text. For other mobile apps the verbiage they use was their own. I'm not sure if they were trying to be fancy but ADP uses basic terms for the information it shows. To me it made my first few uses of it super simple.
Reporting is really good. It shows graphs for how I was paid and if I click on a graph it gives more detail. Just really smooth. It makes you feel like they really paid attention to the user experience and didn't over complicate things.
ADP's HR products could be more affordable for small businesses. The quality of the products is good. With enough employees the value they provide makes sense, but with fewer employees, it's more than you need and the price isn't justified.
ADP Time and Attendance was not able to be customized to the operations of my company. With retail locations organized under separate legal entities, but sharing employees across locations, the product was not setup to accommodate this to accurately track employees hours without double-paying or causing confusion.
Payroll cycles in small business can be a weekly on-cycle evolution which is not automatically recognized.
The Annual Census verification, and IRS requirement, is cumbersome as a resubmission of data already known.
Email to new participants can go unaddressed without notification to the company administrator. Better to illicit early follow-up than wait till their emails expire do to participant non-action.
The usability seems very intuitive, as we turn more features on we are continually impressed. As we roll out features to our employees, it is very user-friendly, and most users have little to complain about. I would recommend a training module when someone first downloads the app, to have a few training screens before logging in to help those less familiar with application technology. Other than that recommendation, the app has been great.
I think it's great. The technology is not quite as updated as other platforms I have seen but it hasn't impeded anything I have tried to do on there so all in all it's great for what I need it for. My employees haven't complained which is telling because they complain about everything! Lol
I've never really had to use the support for ADP mobile, so I would say that it is a great reason to give a good score. I believe the support that is put into keeping the application up to date and keeping the functionality of the application must be a focus of ADP, which is nice to see.
They have a general support email that doesn't provide a case when an email is sent. I had to email multiple times to have an issue addressed which was frustrating and impacted the rating above. Human Interest doesn't have specific account managers which means that it is especially important that the support team is responsive to questions, otherwise, it is unclear if a problem is being worked on. On the other hand, their support team proactively reached out to communicate that an employee of ours was eligible for an additional contribution as they were over 50 years old. Our payroll system had capped the individual's contribution at $19K which is the current year max for most individuals. Human Interest let us know about the additional contribution availability enabling us to quickly update the employee record for future payrolls.
While I was not responsible for the platform selection, ADP has a much better interface. The tools available help in accessing payroll data for several pay periods easily. The data is easy to interpret and consume without the need to open every pay slip. Also the data is available almost instantaneously.
In my other profession, CPA, I have worked with and been involved with numerous other 401K Plan providers. Paychex, Ascensus, Modern Woodman, etc. Some have been very time consuming from implementation to ongoing contributions. Human Interest is a quality organization and has a great platform with easy access and reporting. No heavy lifting and no ongoing tedius work.
We have not had real test of the impact yet since we have not been able to roll out to our pest management techs.
I believe that if we keep trying to educate our employees on how to access and use the mobile solutions app we will see more positive feedback because of the ease of access to their information.
Human Interest has been great for minimizing time expenditures from HR to maintain employee records
Minimal impact on employee retention and turn over, but is an asset to the Team Members who are actively contributing
Extremely positive ROI when it comes to allowing Team Members to change their contributions and auto-syncing to the payroll company so there is no need to manually make the changes from our end
