ClickUp
ClickUp is well suited to organize projects and communicate internally with teams members and externally with clients or vendors. If you need to track emails, any emails responded to from an email sent within ClickUp is automatically tracked within the task where it originated. It also works great for storing document files within projects and tasks and tracking multiple versions of documents created or copied within ClickUp

InEight
It's definitely a good tool for progress tracking, as well as time tracking. The ability to forecast quantities provide an even better scenario, closer to the reality, supporting even change management. The change management is also a good method, besides the fact of rework if you think in the whole process of issue creation, promoting to PCO, promote to CCO, execute the issue, move to change in controls, and so on... just now I think having all in a single place would minimize the manual work and maybe increase the engagement on it. About a negative point, I'd use a feature that appears to be in all modules. It's pretty much a cosmetic, but it impact in the productivity, a lot. For all fields you will fill with information, whenever your mouse hover over it, a tooltip appears, impeding you to continue, so you have to walk around, click in a place that's not being covered by that tooltip, go back to your keyboard and continue... again, it's a cosmetic, but having this in a Monday, with a full job to plan, claim quantities, and whatever else, it's annoying.

Plutio
Plutio is great for the individual who is constantly on the go, managing a wealth of online information and projects. I can see those who work in education, such as administration, or technology coaches/teacher coaches using a platform like this to stay organized. Freelance or consultants would also benefit as it can manage your digital self.

Pros
ClickUp
  • Customization is huge for us! We do not have the aspects of standard project management, so having the ability to customize basically everything in ClickUp is amazing.
  • An outstanding free version of the software! We are a small nonprofit organization that cannot afford the robust levels of other software, so having access to SO MUCH for free is incredible.
  • The layout and organization of tasks, Spaces, folders, etc. is perfect. I love how I can see which task all of my subtasks belong to on my dashboard. And the option to change colors and icons for everything also really appeals to my obsessive brain.

  • Tagging segments of work.
  • User defined views and descriptions for all screens.
  • Customizable ribbons to provide an efficient use of the software.
  • Multiple layers/dependents to allow for an extreme drill down of the work and the ability to roll up to a more useful level for upper management review.
  • You can bid the work as you would build it, in detail.

Cons
ClickUp
  • I would like to see when scheduling a task for someone, their available hours, as I am scheduling instead of having to go back to the workload view
  • I'd like easier UX and understanding of what all of the different levels of folders, lists, tasks, can do and what they should be used for
  • Notifications can be cleaned up

InEight
  • Provide a simpler version (cliff notes) of the knowledge database
  • Offer versions of InEight for smaller companies, i.e. less than 20 emplyees, under $5M in revenue
  • When an estimate is complete, offer a dialog box to ask if the job was won, lost, or still in progress. We tend to leave most of our estimates in the bidding column. This is a user error, but the prompt would be helpful.

  • While the ability to customize is great, it is a little lacking in the visual GUI department. But thats more of a personal preference than anything else.
  • When choosing dates and times for tasks and projects I think the input method could be a little less clunky.

It has been a game-changer in terms of project tracking, as animation is a demanding product that requires multiple layers of analysis, revisions, tracking, scheduling, etc. ClickUp simplifies many approvals as anyone can easily add items, and you can tag the people who need to look at them.

Some features with InEight's TeamBinder are worthy of single use, however the review feature and subsequent revision and version numbering could be improved. We will be aiming to roll out the package to encompass our internal documentation in the near future and will be in a better position to judge the usability after that point in time.

Usability
ClickUp
Because for me, working with teams, ClickUp has provided a service that we longed for. Something that is non-complicated and easy to maneuver. We understand the learning curve can be steep, but we are willing to give the software a chance because it is everything we hoped it would be. However, leadership found the project works for our organization at this time. Moreover, we can customize to our needs.

I would give it an 8 out of 10 because the software can be a bit cumbersome to new users. It also takes a long time to set up the library and input all of your companies needs so that the software will provide the level of service required to estimate projects. However, once the software is set up it is a powerful tool. We only use a portion of what the software is capable of delivering

Plutio puts work into real contribution, allowing me to connect with the team with white-label collaboration. It is an all-in-one platform for me to manage all tasks effectively. Consistently, it positively impacts work and overall growth by adding encouragement. It's worth using this tool to keep track of the task and overall development, so sharing positive reviews might be helpful to others.

Reliability and Availability
ClickUp
For over a year ClickUp was unavailable to us just twice for a couple of hours. I would say for a system this big and working globally that was a minor issue. They managed to fix all the issues within a couple hours and then it was back up and running perfectly fine.

Performance
ClickUp
The speed of ClickUp is average to be honest. This is one of the biggest flaws of the system, sometimes it's also lagging a little bit but we also have a lot of documents, lists etc. on our workspace. However, with the next version of ClickUp I've seen they are planning to increase the speed by almost 500%, probably by changing the technology, so I am more than looking forward to it.

Support Rating
ClickUp
I started using ClickUp when it was what most would consider a baby company. There were the occasional bugs that made working in ClickUp a little bit of a headache, but the support feature allowed me to chat with a real persona and communicate my issues. I would always get prompt support and someone willing to really help me, not just point me to FAQ pages. Not feeling like a number really makes a difference.

We are new to the use of the system, and so far, we have not reached out for any support. The only support we have requested so far is the development of a training program that involves other staff - some are to learn the use of the program, and some are for informational purposes in understanding the capabilities of InEight.

I have only needed to reach out for support once and got a quick response. There was an issue with the Mac app, but I knew it was in beta. Leo, the owner, was quick to reply thanking me for letting him know about the issue, that the Mac app is still in beta, and that I can use the web version in the meantime until the bug was fixed.

Start small. Don’t try to build the most elaborate plans first. Resist the urge to get into Gantt charts if no one is used to them. Just get work written, add dates and assignees, and start getting used to it. If you did not use a work management tool before, you need to be gracious with yourself about the fact that you likely do not have the muscle memory for working this way yet. But you will get there.
And leverage people who know it if possible. Look for ClickUp experts and vendors. They can really supercharge your effectiveness at building the tool out and speed up the process.

Since the original inception, I have been required to overhaul the system so that it is more user friendly and combines both aspects of our business, documentation and drawings. Being able to control revision and version numbering has been a key struggle that only staff training has been able to mark this as complete.

I used Salesforce at my last job and would recommend ClickUp if utilizing the product for more than just sales. My last company tried using Salesforce for a number of other actions, such as department project tracking, client documentation, and outbound communication which did not work well. ClickUp is far better at managing multiple levels of organization within a company.

We looked at HCSS and Bid 2 Win but chose Ineight due to the fact that it seemed more user friendly, plus I had used it at a former company when it was available from the Grantlun Corporation and was very familiar with it in its ease of use and reliability.

I have tried Suite Dash, Agiled, FlowLu throughout the process of finding a tool that fits our business the best. Plutio was the easiest to deploy and use by far. The other systems had more features and capability but was pretty difficult to learn how to use and set up. We were up and running with Plutio in a matter of hours with a business process, rather than a spreadsheet and an independent proposal and invoicing process.
