Overall Satisfaction with InEight

We use Ineight for project estimating and management. It helps us increase our ability to bid the large volume of projects we need in order to keep our backlog at optimum levels. We have around 25 users.

Pros

  • Organize quotes
  • Accurately cost out bids
  • Save time

Cons

  • We do not use the search engine since it was last modified. It is no longer user friendly.
  • We used to like the way we could change the position of line items. The function has been changed to where it is not user friendly anymore.
  • The "Save" and "Delete" options are right next to each other. I have been after Ineight to change these for a long time but they have not.
  • Ineight has increased our ability to bid more projects
  • Ineight has helped us standardize our estimating process
  • Ineight has increased the accuracy of our bids
We went from a $5,000,000.00 to a $60,000,000.00 Company in the last fifteen years and part of the reason for our growth was the capabilities provided by going from an employee-created Excel estimating sheet to the Ineight Estimating system. It took five estimators to bid enough work on the Excel sheet to get our $5,000,000.00 backlog and we now have only one additional estimator and are able to bid enough work using Ineight to achieve our current $60,000,000.00 backlog.
I highly recommend it and would have given a rating of 10 if it were not for some of the recent changes the company has made to the software and its lack of welcoming input from its users.
We only use Ineight at our main facility so are currently not in need of the flexibility and scalability of multiple sites and departments.
Ineight is pretty good at support although we often do not get support right away as the technicians are busy with other customers. We will get a callback when a technician becomes available. We have never had an issue that was not solved to our satisfaction, mostly in a fairly timely manner.

We looked at HCSS and Bid 2 Win but chose Ineight due to the fact that it seemed more user friendly, plus I had used it at a former company when it was available from the Grantlun Corporation and was very familiar with it in its ease of use and reliability.
Ineight helps save us a huge amount of time in preparing the large number of bids we have to do. It is fast and has many desirable features which make it accurate and reliable. The company has made a lot of changes over the years and most are for the good of the software and are welcome. Some of the changes, however, do not make sense and are actually detrimental to the smooth functioning of the program. When asked why these changes were made I have not been able to get a satisfactory answer. We wish that the company would listen more to the suggestions of clients.
