Overall Satisfaction with ClickUp

ClickUp is used in our organization to manage all of our paid media, creative and development projects. We use it for resourcing, utilization, timelines, project workflows, housing all historical versions, etc. It addressed a lot of issues for us giving us one dynamic view of people's workload, a single source for timelines, status of projects, as well as a single source for leadership to understand where every project is at any given time.

Pros

  • Manage teams workload and bandwidth
  • Timelines and keeping projects on track
  • Team understanding of their daily, weekly and monthly tasks

Cons

  • I would like to see when scheduling a task for someone, their available hours, as I am scheduling instead of having to go back to the workload view
  • I'd like easier UX and understanding of what all of the different levels of folders, lists, tasks, can do and what they should be used for
  • Notifications can be cleaned up
  • 50% less missed deadlines
  • Less questions from the team and status calls needed to understand what tasks they should be working on
  • Less manual work from operations team to understand teams bandwidth and utilization
As our organization is still new to ClickUp, we are still using Slack a lot for collaboration, while linking to the ClickUp tasks. I'd like to see our team integrate more into the ClickUp system and use the chat features, comments, etc. more than we currently are. However, change management for our team is important and we're working our way towards that goal.
We use ClickUp to task our teams, with a lot of recurring tasks for paid media; pacing, reconciliation, optimizations, etc. As well as complex tasks like new media launches, QA, etc. ClickUp helps us by leveraging the templates which has all the steps and directions in checklists for the teams for each of these repeatable tasks to ensure the work gets done correctly.
I think our team uses it at a baseline, but given ClickUp is complex, our PMs are the only team members who are very familiar with all the ins and outs of the platform. I think for busy team members, it's hard for them to sometimes find the information they need, however our PMs are always there to help point them in the right direction.
ClickUp had a more all-in-one solution for all the issues we have been trying to solve at the agency as well as an integration into our finance system (NetSuite) which helped adoption by our finance team.

In my experience, ClickUp has been very well suited for all of our needs at our marketing agency. It helps keep our team aligned, and focused on their tasks at hand. The biggest help as an operations person for me personally has been using it for booking people's time and understanding bandwidth and utilization. It helps predict future hiring or contractor needs.
