SAP Master Data Governance is a master data management solution that helps users to implement a cohesive and harmonized master data management strategy across all master data domains. It is presented as a solution that simplifies enterprise data management, increases data accuracy, and that facilitates consolidation, central governance and data quality management. Highly functional features with Informatica MDM and configuration of its features and interface is a simple task. Implementation is easy without any help from their support team and data security and threats notification functions are responsive and creative reliable reports …
1. Informatica MDM for lot of flexibility and integration with other tools. Need to integrate with other tools then it will be useful. 2. InfoSphere MDM by IBM for handling a lot of data with complexity. Larger enterprise can got for it.
SAP Master Data Governance is clearly superior from Informatica MDM as its faster and more secure then Informatica MDM. The SAP Master Data Governance has better data governance it helps in providing workflows which streamlines the master data processing.
An environment provided by SAP Master Data Governance seamless and integration with other SAP products is very good. Also it ensures compatibility and streamlines procedures, this integration is beneficial for businesses who have already invested in SAP products.
DemandTools is perfect for any system that constantly adds new records to its database. For example, in higher education, we are constantly purchasing search names from various vendors and DemandTools allows us to make sure we are not doubling up on the same records. It saves us money in the long run as we are not mailing out multiple copies of our brochures to the same person.
It is a robust software with great management and data model. It can be difficult to learn how to use and deploy the first time but the mapping and features work very well and have optimized our productivity and cost savings. We can customize reports, create rules and integrate with other applications. Overall I recommend it.
The best use case of SAP Master Data Governance is centrally consolidating your organizational data so you can make sense of it and make business decisions using that data. We live in a world where data can be all over the place, and making sense of it is a skill of its own.
This program raises us to a professional level where we have better versatility to control all the media of my work and have a correct response for each scenario.
It is essential to be right about the destination and development of my data, Informatica MDM is here to simplify all these processes for its users.
Data conversation and Data uploading into SAP S/4 HANA system using SAP Master Data Governance during SAP implementation phase.
Centrally Data governance to have visibility of data in different systems with integration to SAP Master Data Governance, including SAP S/4, SAP EWM and SAP Ariba.
Data Management and Data correction using MDM through SAP Master Data Governance for Materials, which is subjected to approval before finally using in the S/4.
I wish I could make changes to my existing scenarios using save rather than having to create a whole new scenario. Maybe you can, I just haven't been able to.
Some features aren't user intuitive and it takes a while to learn.
It is unfortunate how this program has a couple of limitations in terms of insertions; it does not have the ability to agglomerate and archive the data in real-time by groups.
To have automation functions, the program is very limited in performing one task at a time, compared to other systems that perform functions simultaneously.
We've had to design our own unique or alternative solutions to satisfy our business objectives because plugins don't always perform well with the main product.
It can be sluggish at times and lacks functionality offered by rival MDM packages, as well as limited resources and documentation for certain areas such as hierarchy.
It's a great product. The only thing that holds us back is it was frustrating working with their sales team. We also don't like that when Validity purchased DemandTools they immediately started charging us quite a bit while it had been free for non-profit users when CRMFusion owned it. They also don't let you buy it for just 1 or 2 seats, you have to pay, I believe, in batches of 100 seats.
MDG has proven to work and to bring results once implemented with the right approach, right engagement and sponsorship. Given that it is a very good tool to govern and control master data. Mainly if your company runs SAP systems which there will be a very straight forward integration, not needing any additional middleware or technologies.
Upto 8 1. Powerful Features: It offers a wide range of powerful features. 2. Complex Data Management: It helps companies to comply with large and complex regulation and audit processes. Missing 2: 1. Less interactive user interface or less modern look. 2. Limited integration with other tools
Support can be slow so do not expect quick turn for urgent issues. Help for specific queries not not there. Product tech support is offered. It would be great if query support, even if paid, was offered The training webinars help with the basics but not much if you need advanced functionality.
I'm not sure since I never used support. My colleagues never had any issues with it, therefore my rating would be an 8 with a certain range of uncertainty.
SAP provides great support for Master Data Governance (MDG). They work with us when we are faced with issues in standard solutions. SAP has a great set of Fiori tools that can be used for a better user experience. The issue with SAP is their web dynpro UI screens and they need to provide better support for performance issues that customers face.
The trainings are free live webinars that give you a solid base for getting started with the program. The only weakness is they don't have any advanced classes.
I had just started using Salesforce about 3 months before I did the implementation myself, and it was easy to do just following their step-by-step instructions.
Though RingLead has much more to offer in terms of automation (and it is in Salesforce rather than a separate program), DemandTools still has our heart. DemandTools is very cost-friendly and we were able to increase the value of DemandTools by programming in additional saved scenarios. I decreased admin time in the DemandTools suite by approximately 25% after implementing saved scenarios for every reoccurring update or list upload.
Informatica MDM has proven it's worth in the organization by driving the revenue growth. It saves our lot of time by filtering out duplicate values and helps in solving critical business problems. It is very helpful when we deal with a lot of data. Apart from this we can populate data on various third party integration which is most useful case
An environment provided by SAP Master Data Governance seamless and integration with other SAP products is very good. Also it ensures compatibility and streamlines procedures, this integration is beneficial for businesses who have already invested in SAP products.
I cannot speak to this for 2 reasons. 1. I am not privy to the financials associated with this implementation or the previous one. 2. We have not hit our 'go-live' for this implementation yet to compare it's performance to our previous solution.
MDG is definitely an investment that takes a few years to recuperate. (If you are looking at pure, direct financial benefits.)
However, if you look at all the productivity gains in the business due to not having to stop the business constantly because of data issues, the payback period would be substantially shorter.
In particular, we were able to reduce master data maintenance staffing levels while increasing quality and decreasing workload for business requesters and approvers.
Not having to worry about data integrity issues has shortened the time to realize benefits for several of our major process change related projects and it has also decreased the risk of these projects running into significant delays (often at the last minute) due to master data being misjudged during the process resdesign.
