LinkedIn Sales Navigator for Gmail (formerly Rapportive) is a free Chrome Extension that shows an email recipient's LinkedIn details within the user's Gmail inbox, and allows users to jump to the contact's LinkedIn profile. Rapportive was acquired by LinkedIn in 2012. In November 2017, LinkedIn released a new version of Rapportive called Sales Navigator Lite for Gmail, which makes some features of LinkedIn Sales Navigator accessible from within user's email inbox. Slack
Chose Slack
Slack is far superior. Easier to use, less expensive, and simpler to set up. All of the others felt more clunky or harder for people to use on a daily basis. Slack is the best option in my opinion and the others are very far behind. I would suggest Slack over the competitors.
Chose Slack
Teams and Skype have very limited features as compared to Slack. I would prefer Slack any day over them as it is well suited for both internal as well as external communication.

The Sales Navigator has allowed us to increase our awareness of our potential lead pool and has allowed us to grow our customer base. The system is easy to use and allows us to have great control over the number of leads we can see and the number of leads that we can connect to. Using the system has also helped us in being able to manage the number of leads that we can send.

Slack is definitely well suited according to my experience of using it for over 6 years to be the best platform to have short quick huddles and catch up sessions with your team, More especially if your work environment is a WFH set up. you can easily direct message a colleague regarding something that needs quick attention. making calls is easy and you can basically present a presentation to your team quickly and easy by sharing your screen with them easily. its basically the future

Cons
LinkedIn
  • Sometimes it tells me I need to log into my LinkedIn profile when I've already logged in. It's weird. It seems to be when the email address is not found. Instead of just saying the email is not found, it tells me I need to log in. Just something I've noticed.
  • Sometimes I get this weird thing where I go to compose an email and instead of having it open all the way to the right, it opens all the way to my left. I'm pretty sure Rapportive is what's causing it. It doesn't happen very often but sometimes I see that.

  • Wish I could organize my "save for later" items into folders. It would be nice to store all of the golden nuggets of information I learn. Even better if we could export it out into a word doc to turn into a real article or resource!
  • Use AI to help us find themes around topics and prepare a summary every week/end of day/month so that the entire team can absorb all conversations into one clean space

Rapportive is simple and great at what it does. Plus I anticipate they'll probably add more features in the future.

To be more transparent, I give 10 because Slack serves our collaboration needs. It provide us a good platform for team communication relaying important update within the company, it has even mobile app where you can install in your phone to monitor any updates within that team that needs your immediate attention and intervention.

Usability

The user interface is very user-friendly and easy to navigate. The workflow is an easy thing to incorporate into your day-to-day as a sales person. It’s very rare that I come across a glitch or website slowness. The collaborative Aspect is also a plus when I am working with others on my sales team

At the basic surface, Slack does deliver everything we need - easy to handle, easy to understand. But, as I said earlier, there are the more complex parts which demand more of us and some of them even lack information about how to be used, which is frustrating. If we could have maybe a section with instructions, or maybe if you make the features easier to use, it would be awesome.

Yes, the app works 24/7. I don't even recall having any period that we could not use since the implementation. Even the maintenance periods are barely noticeable and our work is not impacted by it when it happens.

Slack is a soft app, we don't have many issues with it. I recall one or two people complaining about something during our usage period, but I didn't have a bad experience. When the app is slow, usually the problem is with my computer or my internet. The app works just fine.

I've never had to contact support for Slack which is a great testament to its ease and use. Adding people outside of the organization takes a little getting used to, but ultimately allows for greater collaboration between FTE and contractors. There is no clear alternative to this software, so it's the best we can do for now.

LinkedIn Sales Navigators provides different services than most other products and has the unique ability to take advantage of LinkedIn's proprietary user data. That also comes with a drawback that the system is dependent on users to update their data in a timely and accurate manner in order to get the correct intel back to users. I'd recommend other products like Seamless.ai or MediaRadar for more accurate and updated contact information, but also to use LinkedIn Sales Navigator for Gmail for better market and company intel, timely pitching opportunities and seamless integration between Gmail and LinkedIn.

Slack: It's easy to strike up a chat right away with one-click calls or huddles. By simply pressing the call button, both users are involved without the need to arrange a meeting. Microsoft Teams: With calendar invites, time slot choices, and numerous confirmation processes, scheduling even a basic one-on-one meeting can feel laborious.

  • Really lets me leverage my entire business network
  • Empowers me to see the prospect's whole picture (who they know, where they went, what they do) and take advantage of that opening
  • We have no other system like it, so it's irreplaceable for us

  • Slack has significantly improved communication within the organization by providing a platform for quick and instant messaging.
  • Teams can easily collaborate on different projects with Slack’s channels.
  • We have to use Google Drive to send large videos. Would have been good if it could be spent through Slack.
