With Proofpoint's Email Protection, you can protect your people, data, and brand from today’s threats…
In my opinion, Mimecast Advanced Email Security outpaces Microsoft in terms of usability and reduction of spam and phishing emails. Mimecast Advanced Email Security was cheaper than Proofpoint, but I suspect Proofpoint is doing better on staying current with trends than …
It has a better interface and is easy to use and understand. It also has better customer service, which is easy to reach. It is also more commercialized, which makes finding products, solutions, and add-ons better and easier to navigate and purchase.
At the time, Mimecast was the leading industry standard, and we needed a better solution, so it was only natural. After checking out our options, I chose the tool that worked for me the best. Mimecast gave me a platform that did everything i was already working on via one …
In our opinion, Mimecast Advanced Email Security was better than the other products we tested. It was more about simplicity for us, and we found it simpler to use. Also, our research from other users of these types of products also seemed to recommend the Mimecast Advanced …
We selected Mimecast mainly based on their reputation. We also demoed SpamTitan and Proofpoint but found that each did not have all of the features we wanted. All three were improvements to our old solution, which was based on SpamAssasin. Do note that Proofpoint has different …
Works very well - probably much better in terms of feature set and customisability. The quality of message filtering is fantastic. But from an administrative perspective it is more difficult to manage than the others.
We had been using Proofpoint for a number of years but there were a few things PP was not doing so well. So we looked at Mimecast and was seriously considering moving to it, however, Mimecast has 1 fatal flaw they were not able to resolve to our satisfaction so we stuck with …
I have not evaluated any others since I have been in this position. But in a previous position I evaluated Mimecast. It's similar and may have a nicer GUI but I don't think it has the same depth as far as bulk of historical detection data.
It's definitely better and more robust and reliable than our previous solution (McAfee Email Gateway), but when compared to Mimecast they are pretty much on par. Both solutions offer a very good solution to email security.
We selected Proofpoint based on a number of factors, including online reviews, pricing, maturity of solution, depth of features, as well as the significantly better understanding the Proofpoint sales team had of our needs. In our assessment, it continually scored well across …
Feature-wise, identical. Mimecast was very affordable compared to Proofpoint. We were able to get annual costs with Proofpoint down to a more acceptable level. Also, the migration costs for us (due to deep customization) was more effort for little return (after PP price was …
We looked at Mimecast and Proofoint at the same time. After looking at the feature comparison and ease of administration, we decided that Proofpoint was the way to go. Proofpoint was easier to deploy on premises which is critical to our organization. Mimemcast was difficult to …
Mimecast's advanced email security remains the number one security tool available for any organization. You will be ahead of the game before anything gets in and users start clicking. Users are often the ones who can disclose sensitive data and compromise the organization and its brand.
Well suited: Proofpoint does a pretty good job at protecting us from spam emails. I was able to block a lot of emails coming from SendGrid by blocking SendGrid emails with a custom spam filter. However, SendGrid has a lot of legit emails too so I was able to create another rule to allow those emails from certain people, then block the rest. That way business need was met but spam emails are blocked. Less Appropriate If you are trying to monitor internal to internal emails Proofpoint is probably a little over featured for that.
Simplicity: Once set up, Mimecast Advanced Email Security is easy to use, intuitive, and simple. This reduces onboarding time with new employees.
Robust Audit Trail: Being able to see what happened with specific emails, why things happened, and who was responsible for them helps to reduce troubleshooting time as well as improving overall email observability.
Clean Interface: Mimecast Advanced Email Security is a Swiss-Army-Knife of email security. There are many different configurations and complex rules that can be implemented. To make this manageable Mimecast Advanced Email Security has implemented a simple and clean UI. Being able to favorite commonly used features makes a huge difference in usability.
Simple SSO Integration: This seems like a no-brainer, but its odd to see how many SaaS products either don't support SSO, or make it so complicated and convoluted that setup and maintenance becomes a fully time job.
I would like to see some additional improvement around the attachment protection, specifically what may be getting caught and what types of files are attempting to be delivered via email by impersonators.
The Targeted Threat Protection is a great product, and I wish there was a dashboard for this service where we could easily see the types of emails and/or links that have been caught as part of the protection module that could be shared with executives.
Finally, I feel that the phishing protection is great and honestly don't believe there should be much improvement needed there.
There is no question as to the value of the product to the business and the disruption of changing vendors would not be worth any savings possibly achieved by switching.
The console is nice, but it could use some improvements for day to day activities for Admins. I find I am jumping around all over to get what I need (always searching for the right area). Being able to customize a Dashboard or having a central typical activities dashboard will be helpful to save more time.
Very robust and solid product in protecting our emails. The engineers who assisted with our implementation was very knowledgable and great to work with. Easy to use by end-users. Administration and management are also easy for IT. Great dashboard and reporting tools for business reviews.
When calling them you get best in the world customer services but as previously mentioned their online community and capabilities are a bit lacking. They want you to log into their portal to see updates on issues (vs. using a public facing service) and I rarely find the answers to my issues in electronic format. Their online presence is only helpful with the simplest of issues.
We use ProofPoint support quite often to fix issues and assist with setting up features and rules. Each time we have created a ticket, they have been very helpful and respectful. Each ticket has been treated with the appropriate SLA time and attention. We also enjoy the regular check-ins from the engineers when tickets are open but we get busy with other tasks.
In my opinion, Mimecast Advanced Email Security outpaces Microsoft in terms of usability and reduction of spam and phishing emails. Mimecast Advanced Email Security was cheaper than Proofpoint, but I suspect Proofpoint is doing better on staying current with trends than Mimecast Advanced Email Security. I think Abnormal offers the best incoming email security, but does not offer outgoing email data loss prevention or encryption, which is a key use cast for us.
We previously used halon anti-spam, which lasted us well until our organization really started to grow and it was not able to keep up with the amount of mail we were receiving. The support is also nothing compared to Proofpoint's professional services offering. Halon was also not able to have the complex rules that Proofpoint can offer.
Having easy-to-reach backups of all employee emails has made Proofpoint worth it by itself. That plus the countless times that spam/malicious emails did not make it through to the intended person that could have potentially cost the organization a lot of money.
