New Relic has been an integral part of suiting all our monitoring requirements. With New Relic, we have been able to monitor all the servers in our environment, which consist of both windows and Linux machines. New relic has been playing a very vital role in getting our AWS instances under monitoring as well for the likes of AWS FSx, S3, Storage gateway, etc. While there is a wide range of usability of New Relic, we do have a lot of on-prem storage devices that don't allow any external software to be installed; hence we are not able to use New relic for monitoring them.
Read full review Pros The app monitoring gives you the details to set different filters and do a quick identification of the root cause of the problem. Remarkable ability to store details of performance to analyze baselining, run advance troubleshooting, error detection and catalog by trends. The ability to sync with a device/interface whether is physical or virtual gives me the standpoint to set analysis upon network traffic across LAN or WAN and also get the insight of Cloud segments, setting the triggers to find out where the behavior changes to non-production traffic. For a small and mid-size company, the number of settings and work that is needed to implement the solution could be a long and exhausting process. A "lite" version of Visual TruView could help a lot to small sized environments looking to develop the solution. I would like to add some mitigation tools for simple/common problems that could be easily managed by a monitoring tool like Netscout TruView. UX/UI could be improved as some pages are a bit slow or difficult to view though it provides good information to act upon. Have the option to choose a Cloud provider to keep data within the country and also restrict access based on IP address so that we could control New Relic console access. I have not yet found any similar product that offers me this range of features to help us keep our online service fast and reliable. Besides this, New Relic is constantly evolving by adding new plugins to emerging technologies and platforms. Server performance measuring features are a key point as our user database grows.

As an engineer, New Relic has been very quick and easy for me to pick up/install/use. It has been less easy for some of the less technical-minded folks in our organization and their UI still is inconsistent multiple years after refactoring their platform to be New Relic One.

As mentioned before, our deployment success depended on their expertise. Recommendations and overall response from their support engineers was out of this world. We, as supporters ourselves, are very critical in regards to the response times and knowledge of support services representatives. Often they just want to resolve your ticket not caring about the result, or focus only on the performance review we could give them. That's a standard behavior in most overseas support centers. The TruView engineers and management cared about us, our needs, and how they delivered the help we needed.

There are times I feel that the initial support is lacking. And in some cases the automated responses of not hearing anything are annoying if the reason why there has been no movement is because we are still waiting to hear back from NR support. So, i think they should loose the automation as it can seem disingenuous

The documentation was clear and concise; the only issue we ran into was custom application naming. Due to HTTPD mod_fcgid and the need for the application name to be set in php.ini (not in .htaccess or the virtual host directive) ... we had issues setting this up.

Visual TruView is a solid competitor with solutions such as
, or SolarWinds NTA. Why we chose TruView was because it goes straight to what we were looking for, no hidden modules or subscriptions to secondaries licensing terms, to get the results that we were expecting. TruView takes it to another level.

New Relic has a native integration with the IaaS service that the company utilizes which made it very easy to set up, integrate, and it also has consolidated billing with that IaaS service which is a big plus for the organization. After evaluating, I also thought it had the strongest APM capabilities compared to its competition.

Read full review Return on Investment Tool consolidation, an amazing GUI that shows the most from the very beginning helping the IT Teams to set their own dashboards according to their needs. When they meant one price tag, that's it! You won't get a headache after the purchase process is done. Better be ready to set the scales your organization requires because if you miss something in the design you could get an application size that overrides your initial budget.
