Paycor did not automatically calculate employee paychecks properly. Paycom has been able to do this which has saved us a ton of time. Paycor also required a lot of manual changes where Paycom has automated the process.
Chose Paycom
We had a lot of technical issues with Paycor due to the fact that they purchased separate software platforms and cobbled them into one system that did not flow as seamlessly as we would have liked. Our staff were constantly complaining that the app would glitch or that punches …
Chose Paycom
Paycor was our previous provider, and we had an incredible amount of issues. There was so much manual work to keep information correct, and the flow of information was tedious. Paycom had all of the features we were looking for.
Chose Paycom
I've used ADP, I've used Paycor, I've used Insperity powered by isolved. I would say biggest competitor being paid for just because I see a lot of similar features and systems, but I do feel like Paycom is more, it just has some added features that our staff in really when it …
Chose Paycom
They are very similar in function, but the interfaces and dashboard are different. I found the Paycor dashboard to be more "social media" styled, with employee recognition on the front page. As a manager, I prefer to just jump in and get the task done that I need to do.
Chose Paycom
I do think it's very similar. I think it is on the higher end. I haven't used Workday in a very long time, so I can't really compare that because a lot of features are new, and maybe Workday has them. I do think Paycom and ADP are both a little better than Paycor, but that's …
Chose Paycom
We were with Netchex and we also looked when we transferred to Paycom, we also looked at Paycor and Paylocity. Much better than Netchex and when we researched the other ones. The primary selling point was that Paycom was that you guys owned all of your own software and then …
Chose Paycom
The customer service is hands down better with Paycom!
Most of it was because it was an all-in-one type of system that really kind of won us over, and then the salesman. I mean, the service side of things, we had Paycor at the time and honestly we were really unhappy with the …
Chose Paycom
I appreciate the single database platform. Some of the other programs I have used in the past are not as intuitive or user-friendly. The reporting is accurate and timely. There isn't any confusion between the modules trying to communicate with one another. We also have …
Chose Paycom
When evaluating competitors, one of the decision points has been how seamless the experience is from login to each of the different modules. Many legacy providers have the same modules, but they are not seamless. They are "connected" behind the scenes and skinned to appear to …
Chose Paycom
Because I've had so many years of experience with Paycom. I've kind of let my team sort of ... They're the users. So I've just said to them, "Hey, whichever one you guys feel the best." And I've done this twice already, switching payrolls to Paycom, and everyone always seems to …
Chose Paycom
Hands down, you guys beat them clearly out of the water. And I think one of the biggest things that you guys do better than the rest of them is owning all the platforms. So if I have a problem with applicant tracking, I can come to you instead of going to a different vendor and …
Chose Paycom
Paycom is a lot easier to navigate and customize for your employees experience. It takes time on the front end to set up but once it’s up, it works great. They have a lot of great solutions built in that have saved us a lot of time and money.
Chose Paycom
The system itself is way more appeasing to the eye, which is nice for someone who works in it every day. Also, the functionality of the system just seems to make sense.
Chose Paycom
We selected Paycom due to their system being one totally organic system. We have worked with systems who purchase other modules and they do not communicate well with each other. When changes are made in Paycom they flow to all the different sections needed to ensure the …

I honestly believe I chose Paycom because of the relationship I had with our sales rep. I felt comfortable discussing issues with him and I trusted that he was going to be a man of his word. Blain was wonderful to work with and if I had any issues, I called him and he took …
Chose Paycom
We selected Paycom for its functional, user-friendly platform. They continue to make improvements and add features that are beneficial to HR and Payroll professionals.
Chose Paycom
We left our last product carrier due to the lack of support we got. We gave them a year and a half to improve before terminating our relationship. It took an average of 7 days to complete a support request (no matter the urgency).
Chose Paycom
Paycom was the service that met all of our needs at the best value. Others are more expensive or lacked all of the operational items that we wanted to cover.
Paycor
Chose Paycor
We have used in the past ADP, we just outgrew it and needed it to do more things. Paychex, I would say we also outgrew. We are with Paycom now, we are pleased with the product and the various modules. It allows us to run reports and have our benefits and EDI feeds set up …
Chose Paycor
Paycor is clearly better in reporting, how it is built and the features it has. Our Paycom customer service was really good and that is something I still miss 4.5 years later.
Chose Paycor
We moved from Paycom to Paycor in 2020 because the cost was cheaper and Paycor had the ability to track issued equipment.
Chose Paycor
Overall, I prefer it to the bigger HRIS systems that I work with (ADP, Paycom, Paylocity) and would chose Paycor above those listed. I do prefer utilizing other Ben Admin Systems (Gusto, Rippling, Ease) for pulling general reports, usability, and customer service needs for …
Chose Paycor
Paycom has all one system, so their different modules all talk to one another. They also have an excellent benefit module and EDI feed setup. We have had no problems with their benefit setup or EDI feeds; they work well!
Chose Paycor
Paycor seemed simpler and still allowed the employer to control many aspects of what the employeea can do.

By far the easiest to use system. May not be able to dive into super deep details/advanced features, but easy to use
Chose Paycor
Paycor seems to be the best for other systems integrations and reporting. The easy of set up and integrations into other platforms is great. While the report building is more robust than ADP with and easier approach to creating the reports. I would recommend Paycor over ADP as …

Overall, Paycor is a solid system that meets most of our needs. It offers a wide range of functionality and generally performs well. However, there are a few technical issues that create challenges, particularly within the onboarding module. From the few systems we have used, …
Chose Paycor
I prefer Quickbooks, it was the easiest system to process, approve, pay, and log. Taxes were easier however it was the most expensive and we were all told that the changes were being made.
Chose Paycor
There are areas of each application that stack up to Paycor. Paycor's advantage is the automation between platforms creating more accurate payrolls. Especially the efficiency in onboarding, BA and timekeeping.
Chose Paycor
Paycor's price point in comparison to other platforms is spot on. Affordable platform with standard industry features. Paycor touted that our company size was right in their "sweet spot" as well and that they could specifically handle our complexities. We overall felt that the …

Paycor however, in my experience, is not as flexible as originally proclaimed. Just like most others evaluated, there is a lack of customization within the …
Chose Paycor
The sales team was not in your face and using cold pressure tactics to get your business. As was our case, the multiple parts of Paycor seemed to be easier to implement from scratch.
Chose Paycor
Overall cost and functionality influenced our decision to choose Paycor
Chose Paycor
Paycor is much more user-friendly and more understandable in their sections and use of each. It is a lot less confusing than the other program. The ease of just getting out training to the employees have been so simple and they are able to access from their company phones with …

For well-suited, I definitely would say that really any industry, any type of position, it's helpful for everything. I've used it for a printing and publishing company, and now I use it for healthcare purposes. I feel like it's very vast, and you can use it for anything.

Paycor is well suited for an organization with a strong implementation team or who has the budget to hire a consultant to implement Paycor. Once the system is implemented, Paycor is great. If you are a smaller organization, we suggest starting with just 1-2 modules and working your way up from there as setting up everything takes time and resources

Pros
Paycom
  • Payroll. So easy. It's just two or three buttons all done. Time cards are very easy to edit if needed, move around, manipulate, and are user-friendly. Our employees with the app on their phones, they can in and out and request PTO, whatever they need to do. And it's very user-friendly, very easy to use.

Cons
Paycom
  • The one area that I think I would make recommendations to change is in performance management. I believe that the already built-in formats for 360-degree reviews and for standard performance management reviews could use a bit more flexibility of customization. For example, the number of raters, how the calculations are made in terms of the metrics, and the final scores of those reviews are all elements that are programmed by Paycom. If we wish to pursue a slightly different model, we are restricted to those changes that Paycom has anticipated and not locked out. If there was a little more adaptability built into this module, I think it would be an improvement.

  • The reporting capabilities of Paycor Recruiting are lacking. While there are some great features I would like to see more options for customization. The options to build my own report from SCRATCH with whatever fields I want/need would be a huge improvement. At this time, I have to finagle the reports to try and get what I need and often times I have to pull multiple reports and then do extra work outside of the system to end up with metrics close to what I’m looking for in the data.
  • The candidates search feature could use some improvement. In theory, the tagging system is a great idea but it leaves room for inconsistency and trying to search for a previous candidate who interviewed well isn’t always easy. This makes it harder to re-engage with people who could be a strong match for a new job opening.
  • Although the platform is very user friendly as far as ease of use and intuitiveness it can be VERY slow at times. There are days where the system moves at a snails pace and when there are multiple clicks to have to get to a specific spot in the system this can be very frustrating. This is especially try for navigating through job postings and candidate details.

Price point is the biggest driving factor. Paycor has made some strides in the customer service area and we've seen enough improvements that renewing our contract has become more a reality than a pipe dream. Everything is central. Everything is there. It's usually friendly. You have the question AI chat thing, where we can answer the question. So, to me, that is a big asset. Instead of us trying to scroll through all of Paycom, we can just type it in, and it'll take us directly there.

Glitches. So many glitches. The customer service number provides basic troubleshooting, which doesn’t help; some issues take weeks to resolve, with no apparent reason why they occur. The system does not work on Safari. We have dealt with Payroll not working, which has caused a manual payroll to be run. Paycor representatives do not provide any assistance.

Support Rating
Paycom
In 6 years, we've never had a bad experience with client support. We implemented during COVID, and I was the only person in HR at the time. I was also having to homeschool our children, which meant bizarre work hours and limited time to focus on platform build at times. There were nights that I was literally on calls at 11 pm and the implementation team was unbelievably supportive. Recently, a Position Seat specialist came on site to help us set up for our 5 client codes - the experience was transformative for how we use the platform and an absolute game changer. I trust Paycom because I trust our representatives. They truly are strategic partners for us, and work to ensure we're maximizing the platform and that our needs are being met

The training was helpful and covered the basic functionality of the system, but it did not stand out as exceptional. The presenter was knowledgeable and answered questions appropriately, but much of the content felt focused on standard product features rather than our specific business processes and use cases. I would have liked to see more hands-on exercises, deeper workflow examples, and practical demonstrations tied to real-world scenarios. Overall, the training was good and provided value, but there is opportunity to make it more engaging, more customized to our organization, and more impactful for long-term user adoption.

It was good, but hard to know what questions you need to ask until you actually get in there and start working with a live product. The online training was adequate and covered the core functionality of the platform, but it felt similar to many standard software training libraries available today. The content was easy to access and generally well organized, but it lacked the depth, interactivity, and real-world application needed to make it particularly memorable or impactful. I would have liked to see more role-based learning paths, practical business scenarios, hands-on exercises, and guidance tailored to different user groups. Overall, the training met basic expectations and provided useful information, but it did not differentiate itself from typical web-based training programs offered by most HCM providers.

Implementation of any new software is going to be challenging, especially if you are maintaining an existing program concurrently. When it is time for dual-processing (both old and new software) prior to going live, be prepared to be stressed. But trust the process and it will be over soon.

Paycom
I like PayPal because, as I said, I haven't had any issues. I haven't had to call any of the representatives. I can't think of the main work for the company logo, but that's for a larger company, so I've only used it for smaller companies that don't work for that, but it integrates more and adapts to one. That's probably my first one. But this is probably my second-best company. Workday is the best that you can use. It's like having an Apple computer, because as I said, it can integrate different products into one and adjust them. I don't think about a lot of products that can do that. So it's easy to EDI feed information in there, and Workday will qualify. So that's what makes them stand out above everybody else, but it's for large companies.
